No, but what about working in a news environment (newspaper, radio, etc.) where you can use what you have learned, and learn more? :larrow:

Not likely....they usually require BS/BA degrees and/or experience.

Doc - I had the exact same problem as you before, during and after graduating with my BS in meteorology. I ended up waiting tables 2 summers (great money), delivering pizza another (also great money, but was a bi**h on my car), and the last summer before graduating, I worked at a deli part-time, and interned at a tv station in Louisville, so basically I was poor. I'll spare you the horror of finding a met job after graduation!

Actually, in a summer or two, you should be able to find a "volunteer" (basically a student intern) position with the NWS - they have several programs that would help you get your foot in the door there. I'm kinda sad I didn't know about it until after graduating, because it helps those that do 'volunteer' get a real job with the weather service later.

Well after I get my BS I'm going to grad school to eventually get my Ph.D. so it shouldn't be too hard to find a job...I don't think...I'd like to be a college professor, actually. :)

Try something down at the beach. Last summer my youngest son worked renting jet skies in Pass Christian. He had a blast....MGC

Give each one that you haven't heard from a follow-up call. They will appreciate your desire and eagerness.
