I agree with Alicia. Lavender is very relaxing. Also, go to a health food store and look for valerian. I take it sometimes when I have muscle spasms.

DO NOT take Nyquil for insomnia. The antihistamines in it can make one restless, and nervous. I took it once, and paced the floor all night.

A good night's sleep is 6 -7 hours. Can't normally do 8's. Usually fall asleep fine, but if I am particularly restless, I'll exercise a little before a warm shower. Reading then does the trick.

If I am in a stress situation (being responsible 24/7 can do that), my doctor has Xanax available to me. My prescription from last October is barely half gone...and since it can be habit forming, I save it for the nights when I know I can work it off a little slower in the morning.

Best thing most nights is a walk or some exercise and a warm shower.

A touch of warm chamomile tea will help too...but not too much. Don't want more than one pit stop in the middle of my best dreams!!!

I sleep very well. I'm the 8 hour a night person, though during the weeknights it's usually about 7. I love catching up on the weekend.

Alka Seltzer Plus does the samething to me as well Stormchasr. I also think it has to do with the medications you are taking because it never bothered me before I started to take Prozac.

The only med I take regularly is Advicor for cholesterol (hereditary).

R-Dub, sometimes you can have problems that affect your
sleep cycle. I work for a neurologist, who reads
polysomnograms (sleep tests). Do you snore? Do you
suffer from daytime sleepiness? You may need a sleep
study (ordered by your doctor), and, then, if your problem
is not obstructive sleep apnea, etc., then it may be a
ears, eye, throat (ENT) problem. You need to let your
primary doctor know about your sleep troubles. Do get that
taken care of, eh?

Sleep? What is this "sleep" you speak of?

I get anywhere from 2 to 7 hours of sleep each night... and sometimes I get no sleep at all.

This is what happens when a Jedi Master doesn't know how to "turn off" the Force. :larrow:

Good suggestions Karan and also try Tylenol PM. We use it quite often and there are no after effects that I have noticed.[/quote]

The only side effect is the quite often part. I can't sleep without at least taken one....
