double and triple negatives

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Mon Jun 06, 2005 9:36 am

I remember when I was in school especially HS.. My teachers would always tell me "don't speak that way.. it's a double or triple negative" lol

Here's the point of this subject.. Do any of you still talk that way..? lol

My personal favorite to tell people I work with when they wanna borrow money and I don't have any.. is "I aint got no money" lol

Funny this topic came up...just yesterday at lunch with some friends...we started talking about how it seems many peeps out there seem "lazy" when it comes to wording things...like for ie. pertaining to a group # of peeps in a room...It's fewer peeps...not less peeps. :)
