Take This Job And Shove It.....
We all had one horrible job we will never forget. What was yours.
Mine was when I was in high school and all the jobs were taken, so I worked in a laundry ironing sheets for a hotel during the summer. There was no airconditioning and all this steam went into my direction. It was not fun for the summer.
Thanks, Bobbysocks

I had the boss from hell, dude couldn't keep a secretary. Went through 14 secretries in one year. He started sending me to pick up blue prints, at 4:30 in the afternoon across the river (bridge traffic is HORRIBLE) in MY car. That was fine, but I was not getting reimbursed for my gas or being paid overtime. After the 5th time I approached him about this. He told me to be grateful I had a job. I told him what he could do with his job and left. I was secretary # 15 that year.

Worked at the tastee freez on P'cola Beach. It was run by an old navy man and his family. Any problems were always blamed on me even though it was his daughters messing up. The pay was a huge $0.65 an hour and the hours sucked!!!! I was 15 years old and working till 1am on the weekends serving drunken sailors and their "dates". It took two weeks for me to tell him what he could do with that job and go to work at the Jitney Jungle grocery store in Gulf Breeze for 0.20 more per hour sacking groceries.

My cooking job was hell to say the least. No AC in the summer, the heat barely worked in the winter and when i went to work in the morning I never knew what time I was going home since I was expected to work late if someone didnt show up. Last March I placed my keys on the bosses desk and told him I was thru. Over a year later he still wants me back lol.

One summer when I was in high school I got a job at a christmas tree farm, trimming trees. The trees have to be trimmed every year to get the right shape and get full and bushy. Each crew would go out for the day in huge fields. We had to bring our own water. The boss drove an old beat up station wagon with no muffler. You could hear him coming for miles. He was always drunk and would come around where we were working and would yell and scream about anything. If we made a mistake on a tree, we'd get yelled at for about half an hour, never mind that what he was paying the crew for half an hour cost more than the value of a tree. We worked in the heat and in the rain, through insects, briar patches, steep terrain, etc. Some of the trees would have wasp and hornet nests. We especially hated the white pines because they are full of sap. We'd get all sticky from head to toe, and our shears would get all gummed up. All around, it was a miserable job.

$.50 an hour, and it took me a whole year to determine that one of my jobs at Highland Hospital (my first job ever) was to take the items in this particular room and burn them in the incinerator. They were bagged and boxed...and I was just told to stoke up the fire and shut the door.
Only by accident did I later discover that these were amputated limbs.
Shouldn't that at least been worth $.75 cents?

The worst job I had was when I worked for the conviencence store Circle K. I had to close every night and get home about 1 am and then get up at 6 am to get my kids up to go to school. I had been there about a year when I got robbed 3 times in a six week period, two of the robberies were by the same guy. The I hurt my back just after the 4th robbery in that year. I quit after I hurt my back.

Yuck
My worst job was as a director of nursing at a rehab. Pure H___. Through 8 months I never got a break even at night. Not ONE night went by that I didn't get at least 1 phone call from some whiney nurse that did not wnat to do her job. I even had to come back from out of town when my dad was in ICU and worked a 21 hour shift on my grandson's 1st halloween.
I resigned after 8 months and even though I didn't have a job I felt so relieved. They have had 3 directors since I left 1 1/2 yeas ago so I guess 8 months is a record there--LOL.

Two come to mind:
1) a local Krystal restaurant when I was a teenager. Low pay, long hours, and plenty of hostile customers
2) an order puller at a now defunct auto parts warehouse in west Atlanta. Quickly learned that short, overweight guys like me have absolutely no business trying to make production in a fast-paced warehouse...I broke more glass (windshields) by accident than Ernest T. Bass did on purpose

The one I got now! I feel like they could care less about me. I know they could just replace me at the snap of their little fingers. I feel like they don't appreciate nothing I do. I worked very hard. Busted my butt cleaning the stockroom for the last 2 days. Do I hear a nice job or a thank you? No. All they do is critizize me for something. I am job hunting right now. And can't wait until I find another job! I have not even got a raise in 3 years. Been there for 6 years and only making $6.47 an hour. How sad is that! No matter how miserable I am, I can 't quit until I find another job.
Another job I hated was K-mart. I worked their before I came to Sears. They also treated me like crap over there. I had to work 8 hour shifts every holiday the 2 years I was there. Thanksgiving, Easter. I am big on family and could not see my family at all when I worked there. They did not even want to close when we would go under a hurricane warning.
The very first job I ever got was right after high school. I worked at a Chinese restarant as a hostess. I hated it! I only lasted 2 days and will never work with food ever again! Oh, well, I took my civil service exam, and I am currently trying to find a job with the state. Wish me luck.

Now, now, Officer; remember, "Courteous to all, friendly to none". The only friend you have is someone else with a badge/shield.

This may sound harsh to people who haven't "been there", but you'd be amazed at the people who wil try to "trade" on their relationship with an officer to "get out" of something. This, of course, can't happen.

LOL @ Bill.......I know!! Times have changed for those who walk the "Thin Blue Line!"
OH YES....I've had members of the "opposite sex" become VERY "revealing" at TIMES trying to "persude" me to change a citation to a verbal, written warning!

stringing tobacco
My worst job was stringing tabacco plants in the blazing sun. You would have to attach string to a plant about a foot tall, then stretch to attach the string to a guide wire up above. The rows of tobacco were so long, they went farther than your eye could see.
You are not allowed to drink water or go to the bathroom until you finished your row. Your skin burned and turned orange from the plant juices. The snakes hid everywhere. All for $1.65 an hour!

Respect
I have great respect for police officers. They work a very dangerous job with little appreciation. Most are reputable but as with any job there are bad apples. I try hard to obey the law. I don't drink and drive, am the designated driver when my hubby and I go out, and obey the speed limit. I would NEVER commit a crime of any kind. I feel if I am on the right side of the law then I don't need to be concerned when I see an officer.
On another note--an officer in my home town when I was a teen used to pull girls over for trumped up stuff and offer to forget the ticket if they would have sex with him. Happened to me, my sis and a couple of friends. We all paid our tickets-LOL. He got busted for just this a couple of years ago. Dirty old man. I am glad they finally got him. In my day you did NOT accuse a police officer with something like that!

And, bevgo, NO officer of the law, past or present, would stand for anyone with such authority abusing it like that.
