Film starring Hilary Swank seeks extras in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE -- Two-time Academy Award-winner Hilary Swank will be in Baton Rouge filming her new film "The Reaping" August 1 for roughly 12 weeks.

That's according to the Governor's Office of Film and Television Development. The thriller is about a woman who is known for debunking myths. She travels to a small Texas town to investigate occurrences that appear to be the ten biblical plagues.

Three casting calls will be held to hire extras to take part in the filming. The first is this weekend, Saturday, July 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Best Western, St. Francis Hotel on the Lake in St. Francisville.

The second call is on Saturday, July 23, at the Cortana Mall (JC Penney Plaza) in Baton Rouge and the third is on Saturday, July 30, at the University of Phoenix Building in Baton Rouge.

All applicants should bring a non-returnable photograph of themselves. Anyone six-years-old and up are welcome to apply.
