Sorry I was offline last night

#1 Postby weatherlover427 » Sat Apr 19, 2003 1:51 pm

Good morning everyone. My name is Joshua Tyler Young, and I am here this morning to tell you all about my adventure last night.

First off, my friends arrived at approximately 5:40 PM PDT to pick me up. Their names are Jennifer and Amy. We left right away to go down to South Orange County, but we were delayed on Interstate 5 by a semi-truck whose load had shifted.

Once we passed that, we got off the freeway, and headed to get something to eat. Amy had Wienerschnitzel; Jennifer had Subway; and I had Jack in the Box. I paid for all 3 of us.

After that, we went to Amy's house, where we watched some "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" and ate our dinner. After that, we went into Amy's room and Amy got onto the phone with her lover and Jennifer and I played a game called Cat-opoly. It's similar to Monolopy btw.

When we tired of that, she and I began taking turns on Amy's PlayStation 2 playing Need For Speed 2: Hot Pursuit. I drove very badly at first , then I drove fine for the remainder of the game. When it was Jennifer's turn, she kicked my butt. She made it about 700% further than I did. But then again, women have to be good for most things. Guess driving's not my style on the PS2.

All the while, we were giving each other what we termed a cuss word which I will not repeat here, but it refers to a hard time. Once the time to go home came, Jennifer and I left because Amy couldn't come with us.

When we pulled up to my place, we sat in her truck talking for a while. Jennifer forgot Amy's cell phone number. I told her it was (949) then Amy's boyfriend's name. We were ROTFL at that one. (Then again, it's hard to ROTFL in the front seat of a Ford Ranger pickup truck. )

Overall, it was a great night, a 10/10 on my scale. I'd gladly do it again.

LOL, did it last night (Saturday) too; but with Jennifer and a different female. ;)

I was offline from this site all day until about 15 mins ago due to the fact that I had to work on resolving some computer problems with my friend's computer. He brought his tower over to my place and said "Fix it" to put it simply. I spent 5 $^*%$^%$*^%$ hours trying to get my DSL connection to work on his tower before I finally got online again. This caused me to stay up until 3 AM last night. :(

Once that was resolved, I downloaded about a doxen Windows Updates and 5 or 6 Microsoft Office updates; as well as some new programs to clean his computer up. (He only has a 1.96 gig hard drive and Win 98 Second Edition, so I have to be space conscious about what I do on here - yes I am using his computer right now - for now.)

So ... other than that, I really haven't done much today except some laundry and clean some in the kitchen. I lost my $$*$$#*#@# laundry room key so the way that I got in was through the unlocked door. Now my unfinished laundry is in there and I'll have to wash it again since it's in the washer (foir the 4th time :( ).

The weather today was mild with some high clouds and hazy sunshine. The high topped out in the low 70s. There is a 30% chance of showers tomorrow night and Tuesday.

C U all L8R. Goin' to check out some other posts. Joshua

My brother and me dusted out my computer tower, Saturday afternoon/early evening... boy was it dusty!!

I was thinking about cleaning it myself, but never got to it, so now I am going to do it more frequently. It makes sense that it will make your computer run better.

As I mentioned in another post (over the weekend) I am going to be getting a memory upgrade, from 64.0 MB of RAM to 192.0 MB of RAM [128 MB increase] hopefully soon. I would of had it last night... I explain what happened in another thread.

Which reminds me ... sometime next week, I'll likely be going offline for a while to get some upgrades of my own done. I'll let you know more by the end of the weekend. ;)

How much can you upgrade on a computer? There is only so much room in the tower that can be removed and/or added to make ones computer run faster/better.

I plan on getting a newer and faster motherboard, a new hard drive with 4 x the space, and (non-internal) MS Office 2002 and laser printer toner. ;)

Ahhh, I see, Joshua. I am basically fine with what I have, however I know that a 64.0 MB of RAM memory is too low. I am not sure why I only have this much memory on a computer I got on June 30th, 2000?

I have had sluggish access, but better with cable modem than dial-up, of course. After awhile when I play SimCity 3000 Unlimited, it will freeze up. I understand that the 'blue screen/white text error" is a low memory issue as well.

Intimidator, what should I and other posters talk about?

We are here to discuss weather related and non-weather related issues. The comment ".....need to get a life....." has no reason being said.
