Oil companies don't set the price, the market does.

When you get up to $4 a gallon you start to drive cost-effectiveness on alternative technology like Electric Vehicles. I know our driving profile could easily accommodate replacing our internal combustion sedan with an EV. Our 15 mile Costco run for food could or town visits easily be done with an EV.

Prices are all over the place here now. 3.53 to 383 depending on where you go. The pressure is definitely down though which is a good thing.

Most places here are now $3.55 - $3.59. I love my Gas Buddy app and I do my part to help keep stations updated.

I am afraid that the party of lower gas prices will be over shortly :( Oil rose to above $101 a barrel and that will mean higher gas prices once again. :grrr: And once again, there is another cause for the rise :grrr:

http://www.cnbc.com/id/43160397

Oil prices rose to their highest level in two weeks Wednesday as U.S. inventories of distillates fell unexpectedly, trumping a sharp rise in gasoline stocks.

Prices were slightly lower earlier on concerns over weak gasoline demand ahead of the U.S. driving season that kicks off on the U.S. Memorial Day holiday on May 30.

Inventory data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration showed distillate stocks, which include heating oil and diesel fuel, fell 2.04 million barrels to 141 million barrels last week, the lowest since April 2009.
