A lot of convection is out over the Atlantic and looks to be moving towards the Cape. I doubt they light the candle.....MGC

One little cell about 30nm offshore headed straight for the cape, but I think that dissipates without causing a problem. I'm more concerned about the line further out, which could be inside the area of concern by launch time.

I beleive that there has to be no cloud cover within 20 miles of the launch pad for the Shuttle to be given a go for launch.

For some reason those usually dissiapate before reaching land during the day. It is getting alittle more cloudy. Looks good from here. 7miles south of the pad.

They should just launch and get this over with. One little thundercloud within 20 miles won't do any harm.

Something about the shuttle going into space is that if the energy is around the spacecraft can actually initiate lightning.

Well that line I was concerned about seems to have gone poof.

Looking very good now weather-wise for launch time.

Everyone just polled "go" for launch.

Looks like they'll be going!

Good luck and God Speed to them all.
