Well, who needs them anyway, we're all happy here at Storm2K......this boat is getting mighty crowded!

Unbelievable!! Welcome aboard Marshall!!

I know Steph. I mean heck do we really care about TWC? We are all here now right? And we do not have to worry about sending messages like Ed did to Marshall anymore. lol. We do not have to worry about "sticking to weather" ALL THE TIME for fear of getting banned right? Sounds great IMO. I was tired of all that anyway.

David,
I agree with Chad here, you might want to wait a day or two before wreaking havoc over there. Go easy on the threats! I'm upset at the way TWC boards are moderated too but honestly, it's where I met so many good friends that are now members of Storm2K now and I just couldn't cause trouble there. While I long for the good old days there, they're actually here at Storm2K. TWC just doesn't get that - and so I've just let it go. When topics like these and a few other current ones go up, I'll had my 2 cents, but I know for a fact I wouldn't have the heart to cause lots of trouble there. You're so young and have an obvious interest in weather - sleep on it please! Don't burn all your bridges.....

Give me three minutes...then you can tell me to get lost.
I'm a weather fan through and through, and I'm proud of it. I need my connection to TWC to feel good.
In recent days, I've seen great creative threads on Storm2k get little more than some token responses. And now here we are up to 11 pages of more anger and frustration and disappointment than you can shake a stick at.
What's the matter with this picture?
There are plenty of statements in this thread that talk about "Who cares, I've got Storm2k, I don't need weather.com anyway, and I could care less."
Guess what...you do care, and here is why.
There are some very bittersweet emotions going on here. Bitter because some good people who know they are good people have been given the "heave ho" without even using Sammy Sosa's corked bat. Without knowing why.
It seems like weather.com's developed a Jekyll/Hyde personality.
Under Dennis' watch and guidance, it not only seemed ok to gather there with a pig and an armadillo and talk about life and weather, but some of the folks there, including OCM's, seemed to enjoy joining in! Participation was even encouraged (free calendars, and pats on the back by mods). There was mutual respect. It was almost self policing....and the mood was apple pie and ice cream.
Not sure exactly when the dark cloud blew over, but seemingly overnight the umbrella closed up tight and there was a padlock on the General Store.
On the sweet side of bittersweet were the days we enjoyed much like we do on Storm2k...and getting to know more about each other along the way. I wouldn't be writing this message had I not been part of that experience, and it would be wrong to say that weather.com has not brought me to some very good people.
Sammy Sosa's corked bat was a mistake. And both the rulemakers and Sammy know exactly why.
But here we are...longtime dedicated fans of TWC and weather in general...seemingly being kicked out of the game without knowing the infraction. And there has not been the courtesy of a respectable response for more than a few of you.
I feel bad for baseball because of Sammy's mistake. It's like something I want to believe in during these challenging and dark days in our country's history just got a black eye.
Well...there's another black eye these days...and it is particularly painful because it's hard to understand why.
Sammy respects the game. Baseball respects Sammy. Both have the opportunity to grow from here because of those simple truths.
Right now...these days...the same isn't so true elsewhere.
A little mad. A lot sad.
