Well put, as usual, Steve; but as so many others have related, I was not granted the opportunity to ask...merely banned without a by-your-leave.

But once again, you are correct...time we MOVED ON. We HAVE Storm2K, we have each other, and we have these Forums which deserve more careful attention, thread by thread.

Whoa! I haven't read this thread in a while. I can't believe that all of you were banned. That place has some serious problems! I just checked and I'm still a member there but I haven't posted over there in a while. I prefer to post here...among friends...and among a staff full of people who care about their members and who not only don't IGNORE questions from members, but actually go out of their way to help their members. Storm2k is the place where I choose to spend my time because of all the great people here...staff and members. I'm not saying that I will never post there again because I don't know, but at this point, I have no desire to.

TWC lost some wonderful people when the 7 of you got banned and it's THEIR loss....your friends are here now.

Steve - very good advice, ponderings there. Good points too. Yes we all say we're here now and let's move on. Well, please forgive me all but maybe I'm the indirect reason this topic was resurrected. Lindaloo pm'ed me to say she was now banned from TWC. She's had computer probs so she was out of loop for a few weeks lately. So I filled her in as best this ole memory can do....and finally dug up a link to this topic to clear up any confusion she might have (about our recent bans, mine included). Lindaloo decided to respond to this old topic, as if to say, move over I'm getting in this boat too. Yes our memories at TWC are bittersweet - that's why it does still very much hurt on some level Steve. Even though we all say we've got Storm2K now (Thank God, BTW Chad, et all!). We do still grieve for the old days at TWC (if I may use the word grieve, at least that's how I feel, a hole's in my heart and it all began with chat suddenly closing). I know you're all thinking - get a life Miss Mary! Well, I do have a life but my days at TWC were so much fun! Like Steve mentioned, when Dennis (and T) were manning the boards, we did have fun with "a pig and an armadillo" - what funny way to put it - but so true. And don't forget my chat room reunion - that was a great hangout for a while there.

Okay, all that said and I hopefully didn't leave something out, I promise to all Storm2K'ers to try my sincere best to move on and cease all this Weather Channel talk. I'm not suggesting others follow suit but maybe in the best interest of Storm2K and all this wonderful site can be, let's at least put this topic aside for now?

TWC's Purging the ranks is not a new gambit for them-they did the same on three occasions on their old Forum in Compuserve. Apparently they feel it is necessary to do this to get rid of old more independent users to make way for newbies that can be manipulated easily. Whatever the reason it's definitely a process that they go through routinely. Now if they should happen to have a mole here, I COULD get banned there for what I say here-except that I use a different ID there and also haven't posted there since the big Blood Purge in February (Stalin used to resort to such tactics a lot when he was in power BTW).

I am writing to report abuse of the ban feature by the TWCMB admin. I am tired of the way that they ban people for no good reason, especially posting links to http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/index.php on your site. You allow links to other sites, so why not http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/index.php? http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/index.php is just as good of a site as yours, if not better. Please tell your admin (or whoever is in control of the Admin account on the boards) to stop abusing the ban feature, and that the 8 of us from http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/index.php who you people banned (which includes me) are sick of this incessant banning that you will not stop (and it needs to stop). This includes those of us from http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/index.php who are not banned yet.
