Well, believe it or not I thought Jason Castro was a little boring. I still love his voice but have come to the conclusion that he may not be American Idol material.  That doesn't change the fact that he's cute as a button!!!!

I think Jason or Syesha will go.

You guys are right, nobody stood out last night, well, nobody but Paula. What a ditz.

Paula's antics even made the national news on NBC this am!!!!

Jason or Syesha to go home with Jason in the lead, imo. He just hasn't shown enough variety in his performance. He is more of a coffeehouse performer type. He is very good, but he is not an "American Idol".

:wall:

Jason is safe again... along with David A.

It's going to be Syesha or Brooke(probably Brooke).

David C is the only performer on the show who's even kind of good. He's great, but everyone else is undeserving of the top 5.

Which is why I've stopped watching the show until some of the lesser singers get knocked off, if I start watching it again at all. They had better make some major changes next year or else they're going to lose a lot of ratings.

This year started with a lot of promise but it's been a big disappointment as far as I'm concerned. I call this the year of the under-achiever.

As much as she watches it and as much as she does comment to me about it, I don''t think she really cares too much.

We both thought that the top 10 were amazing this year, but I have to say that at least the last two weeks have been very disappointing and somewhat boring.
WE both think major changes are needed in the show for it to remain viable.

Fox’s American Idol rose to a very dominant 22.12 million viewers and an 8.1 rating/21 share among adults 18-49 from 9-10 p.m. But compared to one year earlier (Viewers: 28.75 million; A18-49: 11.0/28) that was a loss of 6.63 million viewers and 26 percent among adults 18-49.

:X

Old discussion . . . the various AI boards have been discussing this for years . . only difference is that the national media is picking up on the conversation. ..

Song List:
Syesha Mercado - Proud Mary & A Change is Gonna Come
David Cook - Baba ORiley & Hungry Like The Wolf
Jason Castro - I Shot The Sheriff & Mr. Tambourine Man
David Archuleta - Stand By Me & Love Me Tender

David C -- Hungry Like Wolf (Duran, Duran) -- not his best, but :)
Baby O'Reilly (The Who) -- much, much better :)

Syesha M -- Proud Mary (Tina Turner) --- I was worried about this, but she pulled it off .. . ever since the Broadway guy, she shown more personality and attitude. . .
A Change is Gonna Come (Sam Cooke) -- what's wrong with Randy tonight?

Jason -- I Shot The Sheriff ( Bob Marley) -- a little bit harsh, aren't we being tonight. . it wasn't that bad, but not great
Mr Tambourine Man (Bob Dylan) --- he's gone. . .

David A -- Stand By Me (Ben E King) *yawn*
Love Me Tender (Elvis Presley) *yawn*

David C and David A in the finale . . . Syesha in third . .. Jason is gone tonight . . .

Totally. There is no excuse for his pathetic songs tonight. Forgetting the words?!

The other three are close and way ahead.

They all suck. David C looks like he's sick of the show himself. His rendition of Baba O'Rielly which is one of my all time favorite songs ever, was bad. ESPECIALLY without the trademark arp'd moog synth at the beginning.

I wasn't watching it, it was just on in the other room and I was listening.

... I swear...

My thoughts exactly concerning Jason.

My take on the others:

David A established himself as the one to beat tonight imo. He can sing anything and apparently has a brilliant writer doing his arrangements because he sure isn't experienced enough to write like that unless he is gifted way beyond what I think he is.

Syesha has improved immensely and will be in the top three. With or without Idol she will go on to much bigger and better things, probably on broadway.

David C is a great rocker, but he was not great tonight. Top two more than likely. Winner? It will depend on how many of the little teeny boppers vote for David A vs how many rockers he can get out to vote.

End result of tonight. Bye bye Jason.

It does look like Jason just wants outta there. Whether his fan base will keep him in for another week is another story.

I think Syesha may be in trouble again.

I would guess the final two to be "the Davids" and I would hope that David Cook wins.
