It doesn't help that certain people - who I wont name - seem to want to stamp out any jokes which are in the least bit controversial by saying that they are political.

No it doesn't. However, everyone that posts even a joke that maybe "controversial" should think about the reaction it may receive first and ask themselves what they are really trying to accomplish with that joke.

From experience it's not an easy job no doubt. Were humans and this is all normal for humans. Such is life and it's even tougher in this enviroment.
