Okay, so the thyroid is fine (I probably could've told him that since we've constantly tested the darn thing over the years  ). He suggested using Claritin-D. He didn't seem too concerned with the muscle cramps, which have gone away.

Once again, I felt like an idiot having all of those tests and those doctors appointments. Yeah, I know that I need to find out if I have a serious problem with my eyes or my thyroid but I just feel like I'm a hypocondriac! You're probably right Cajun that it's probably just me getting older and perimenopause but GEEEEEZ!!! I just want a definitive answer!?!?!?

I have been using the Claritin-D and I must say that my upper eyelids are not as puffy and I'm not waking up with "monster eyes" in the morning. They are still a little puffy, but I think that there is an improvement.

Great news and thanks for the update Steph. Don't feel like a hypochondriac. If anything it must feel good when your doctor can rule out certain concerns (thyroid, etc.). I've taken Claritin-D on and off for the past few years. I find that the 12 hour dose works the best (so I can get to sleep!). It's great at relieving irritated and itchy eyes. Oddly enough plain Claritin does almost nothing for me. It's like taking a placebo!

Hope you continue to find relief.
