OK, I found the USBANK branches in the phone book...they used to be under another name and, presumably, management (which shows how often I get out... ).

The one at 625 N. Main St. is closest to me, about a mile east of current location.

I think I may have a USBank near me ... however I bank at B of A. Would that be a problem? :?

I'm at a loss as to how banking does its thing...that's Debi's department (she is a Business Administration/Accounting track major).

I am aware of wire transfers from one account to another, regardless of bank; but I am uncertain if anyone wants to take that route, as it would require me to leave my bank account routing numbers...risky, at best. :?

Rainband, your prayers are more precious than gold to us, as are all entreaties lifted up before Him in our behalf by our friends here at Storm2K! :D

Bill,

I wish I could send you money as well, however I am also disabled and have nothing to spare with no income for myself until Social Security decides favorably for me. I haven't been able to cover my rent for this month so I may be in the same boat as you soon. My heart goes out to you because I have been homeless and I know exactly what you are feeling right now.

Although I am unable to send money, I do have a suggestion for you. There is a website you can go to for help. http://www.modestneeds.org
I went to this site several months ago and asked for assistance with my electric bill. I was sent an email a few days later saying my request had been funded. I often go there and read requests and lift many people there up in prayer daily.

If you choose to ask for help be sure to read the FAQ's there. Be very specific on your request. You cannot request more than $1,000. If you put a question mark for how much you need you will be automatically denied. I would also note the sense of urgency you have and that you will be homeless. Stress the situation with coppertop. If you do this I wish you the best.

As a side note I wanted to say that I was just praying for you and your family. Modest Needs popped into my head so I came online to suggest this to you.

God Bless!

Thanks, FWC; I didn't know about this until you told me...I've just registered, and am waiting for my password as I type this. :D

And, thank you for your prayers...I'm certain that, by now, Heaven is being barraged with praise, thanksgiving and intercession for us...and we appreciate each and every one who's lifted us before Him in this hour.

It is written, "Ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and the door shall be opened unto you." I and my family are standing upon the surety of Our Lord's statement, as we go about the business of doing what we ought.

I feel somewhat like "George Bailey"...that Christmas favorite, It's a Wonderful Life? I remember the card "Clarence, Angel 1st Class" left at the end...

"No man is poor who has friends"

How very true!

I just sent mine Ticka! I forgot to put my name in the message - jet lag!

I'm assuming that this is due to what happened with Bill's apartment last week?

Post script - I just read about his eviction! :grr:

Thanks for setting this up Admins!

Bill,

Glad to see you signed up at modest needs. I have a suggestion. I know this was a typo but you wrote you were being evicted because of a "pets" problem. If a person were to read it, they would think you are being evicted because of an infestation of fleas rather than pests, and your request may not seem as urgent as others. I would definately change it to "pest" or "vermin".

One other suggestion I would like to make is that you put a date in your subject field of your request of when you need money by. This will catch the eyes faster and note the sense of urgency. If you should receive money before the eviction, make sure you update your request for a lower amount of money, as this shows you are using every resource you have.

I sent mine ticka. And of course I'm still praying for you Bill.

Guys....if you only have $5 to spare, don't not send it because you don't think it's enough to help. It all adds up!! ;)

Okay Folks - we have now received $220 in donations as of 1:08 p.m. CST.

I would like to have all the donations in by Wednesday evening. I was planning on getting the monies to Bill by Friday with overnight mail.

Please if you can spare $5 - its all adds up.

May God Bless each one of you who has contributed in one form or another to Bill.

Thanks, Stormraiser and family; you are also in ours!

FreakyWxChick, the amount I requested on Modest Needs is at maximum limit, yes...but, that wil only be enough to secure an apartment and "security" deposit. We will have to pay for at least a rental moving van (relying on help from whoever we can get to do the lifting), shutdown and transfer of utilities (we may have to open a new account for power, FI), and after all that, still pay off our August-September bills on the 3rd, as we always do.

This is why, when constructionwx asked me "how much, and don't be conservative", I replied honestly at $2K...which is a heavy sum, indeed, and I'm trying every avenue I can to do what I must for my family. I CANNOT let them down.

Thanks for all your help guys, really. It means alot to us. I'm really glad we have people who actually care about us that we can care about right back. And I'm sure we would do everything we could to do the same for anyone of you. Thanks again.

I would love to help, but being 13, I cannot since my mom doesn't like the internet. I'm sorry everyone.

But with the stop smoking meds. It's really eating me up money wise.
I hope my prayers will be enough. As always God Bless you and yours, Bill.

Did I mention that I love this place? Seeing everyone coming together and pooling resources is great. I am so proud to be a member of this message board. My thoughts and prayers continue for Bill, Coppertop, and the rest of the household.
