Only people who can afford/have cable or satellite service.

According to my tardy research, the closest remote terminal for SBC/Yahoo! DSL is in Doniphan, MO...about 180 miles and five counties away from this little neck of the Bootheel.

They (SBC) were "in progress" of having remotes all over the place, but the "dot.com crunch" hit all of the companies hard, and they ARE still planning to add Sikeston to their service area...WHEN is the question.

Well if you have a neighbor nearby..rooftops within view..you can setup a wireless connection easily and reasonably priced.. share the highspeed cost ($50/mo)with him which is about the same as most dialups($20+/mo) and your cruising. :o

OUCH! welcome to Y SBC DSL. may want to investigate for they told me the same during one of our telephone pow wow's (this while my service was active!). so far so good on this end HOWEVER, their firewall sucks. had a trojan take over my pc and turn it into a remote server the other night. conquered it and sent it back to the pits of hell but was no easy task. since installed zone alarm and set my firewall to stealth mode. learning something new everyday... p
