Just one question, do any of you think that there are any media out there that aren't liberal? Everytime a magazine or news agency comes up someone is harping on them as being liberal...Just an observation, that's all.

Since I was the one that brought it up, here's a link that gives you the covers for each year (80 in all) that Time had elected the now called "Person of the Year". It includes Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and George H. Bush. Equal opportunity for all!

Hey Steph... that is not fairness by any means. Notice they put Clinton with one head but Bush Sr. with two faces? Sounds like TIME is saying Bush is double standard.

Then they voted Clinton Man of the Year again but threw Ken Starr's photo in to name them "Men of the Year" Which means they do not like Ken Starr.

I don't understand where you are getting this idea? Of course I haven't seen the cover either, so I may be way off base here.

If you click the link you will find the covers. Then they have another issue of Bush, Jr but do not call him "Man of the Year" but "Person of the Year" These are just my thoughts blizzard. :)

They show their biases these days by their covers.

LOL Steph.. sorry. :)

What I am saying is that if they voted Ken Starr co-man of the year, how do you get the idea that they did not like him. Are you saying that they are using that as a form of sarcasm?

Thanks though for answering so quickly.

I think that they are trying to be politically correct when they changed it to "Person of the Year".

"Man of the Year" covers show the person/persons who had the greatest impact in the news for the year, for good or ill. Remember that Adolf Hitler was once "Man of the Year", too. :-?

I think Time acted in very poor taste by portraying our President that way.

And the May, 1945 edition showed the same Hitler portrait with a big, red "X" across his mug!

The right-wing conservatism on this board is unprecedented compared to other boards I have been on. It is clear to me that 95% of storm2k posters are strong republicans.
What I like is that you guys treat each other with respect and are tolerant of other views.
Thanks.
I just wish you weren't so conservative. lol.

BTW, people see the media through their own lenses. Would conservatives say Fox is right-wing, no!! They call it fair and balanced. However, liberals see fox as fanatical. It's all through your lense. Time is not liberal or conservative. It is neutral. The people that read it are not!

Welcome to S2K  Republicans-r-US

It's a picture. It's a bit strange looking- which I would complain more about than it being disrespectful (Then again when I was on a wedding board a while back they attached a cut out of my head to a walrus and I just laughed... So pictures don't phase me much) I think thier art department could have come up with something less bizzare looking :D

*I'm still scratching my head on that one*

It's certainly a conservative board, but we do all try to be civil and respect each other's opinions. The mods and admins do whatever is necessary to keep the peace.
