Marva's Meltdown

#21 Postby Suzi Q » Wed Dec 17, 2003 8:19 pm

Apologies to those who posted questions today and got no responses. Marva fully intended to answer each and every query today but Marva's day went completely haywire due to:
1. A call from my daughter this morning at 9:30 stating "I've been sick the past three mornings in a row, I've got no appetite and I'm SO tired". This would normally cause no alarm had she not gotten off the pill two months ago on her doctor's advice. Marva almost fainted.
2. A call from Marva's mother (the original Martha Stewart) stating "We're coming by tomorrow for Christmas gift exchange". Lovely, did I mention I hadn't purchased their gifts yet? And I haven't finished my winter village? And I haven't finished the lights yet?
3. Exhausting shopping trips to Berings, Cleburne's Cafeteria, The House of Pies, Target, Borders, HEB, the bank, the post office,Steinmart., Hobby Lobby, Michaels.
4. Husband coming home tonight sounding like rudolph with that clay crap on his nose sneezing and honking, only to receive a phone call from his boss to go on a service call.
5. My daughter calling me at 5:45 this afternoon stating "I'm kinda hungry but certain parts of my female anatomy are really sore."

So, Marva had a meltdown, plain and simple. But rest assured that after mass quantities of valium tonight Marva will be right as rain tomorrow and back on the job. Either that or I'll be in a coma!

Hugs to all my hooligans,
Marva

Dear Melting Marva,

Of course the question I had been contemplating all day was how to balance all the trials and tribulations of family, friends, holidays, and the occasional blues so that a Merry Christmas can be had by all.

Valium perhaps seems your answer. Xanax is within reach at our house.

Better yet, perhaps, is looking nearby at those who have a bigger challenge than ourselves. More needs. Those really hurting. It is then that we can often find answers to our own questions without your help....without valium or Xanax too!

Sort of "Marva-less!"

Hope your day is better tomorrow though.

Well it seems to be your opinion and heaven knows who elses that I am not providing a service here. So be it. Enough is enough. I was simply trying to interject some humor here which I get the distinct impression you don't approve of. So to placate you, I'll stop. Evidently is was a stupid idea on my part anyway. Happy trails.

Marva please don't go. I share with you the valium - had to exercise tonight - then go to pharmacy - then pickup dinner - waited 20 mins for that - then to grocery store to get stuff for daugther's girls scout party and get home message that she has to bring a gift from $10 to $20 - wonder if she will let me just can just wrap of $15 in a box and call it a gift.

HELP MARVA - don't leave me - the only thing I have left is my sense of HUMOR......

It has been plainly stated that neither my humor nor my advice is needed here. I refuse to make a fool out of myself thinking I'm giving someone a smile once in a while. My time can be put to better use than to be slammed by some sanctimonious folk who find my advice offensive and useless. I had misgivings about this to begin with and it is obvious that I was right. Later.

Marva - that person doesn't own or run the board. Look at all your fans. Please Please - don't make me beg - but if I have too - I will....

Please STAY. A sense of humor like yours is a treasure - especially me - I'm a country girl redneck - hell you even talked to me on the phone - I sound like one....

PLEASE DON'T LEAVE.....don't make me organize a posse and come looking for you.....

Now where is my valium.....

Well there Marva...certainly see how my message could have been interpreted as a kick in the face! Ouch! I'm such a slug sometimes!

I was simply poking fun, as were you, at the trials of your day...recognizing of course, that you had taken yourself out of the loop...and somehow the rest of us must go on in your absence.

In these here parts I'm known for my efforts to bring people together, not tear them apart.

So if the impression was that I didn't appreciate your humor, then I stand corrected. I'm the last person who would intentionally run off anyone on these boards.

Promise...I'll stay away from your posts if you'll come back.

You are a welcome voice. Please re-read my message in the context it was written. In jest...and in offering advice not to you, but to others who couldn't count on you today because you had taken yourself out of commission.

Then stick around and crank up the humor once again.

You are Marvaless! I mean it.

Marva Dahling,

With the busy social requirements of the Holiday Season I am attending a party per night. How often can I wear the same outfit without having it look like I don't have enough social attire to wear?

Yours truly,

Ms. Party Hardy

I figured it had to be a misunderstanding. I couldn't imagine poppysky ragging on someone intentionally like that.
