9/11 was out of the blue and so will the next attack where ever it may be. Let's hope it just not during the Holiday season.

Yes, Duck, these people will stop at nothing to destroy us, but I think a lot of it is hot air just trying to keep us on edge.

To heck with 'em. Merry Christmas and God bless America!

AMEN!!!

We still must remain vigilante. We'll unfortunately be exposed to these potential threats for years to come. As we've discussed in the Tropics forum, there is a big concern that SOMEDAY the EC will experience "the big one", but there's still tremendous growth along the shoreline. The fear is that people are becoming complacent - we've been hearing about these threats for years (hurricanes), but treating it like the boy that cried wolf. I hope that it's just chatter!

FoxNews.com reports that officials are downplaying the threat.

I hope the Dallas area isn't on the list for attacking.

Officials don't need to "downplay" it. They need to remain vigilant as well.

Unfortunately, they are now claiming that this "misinformation" affected Wall Street.

This is exactly what they want to do---create chaos in the US.
They are probably laughing their a$$ off right now.

Yea, but I wonder....did ABC News read more into this than what there really was? The rest of the big news outlets weren't reporting it as much as ABC news. So possibly ABC is partly responsible.

All I have to say is.. BLAH. As in I don't believe it's ABC's fault or anyones.

Just some people get so jumpy when they hear the words threat or attack. I am 1 of those same people to be honest with you..

It's a tough call.
If a news channel reports an imminent attack and nothing happens then everyone says they "jumped the gun."
If they don't report anything and an attack occurs, then they are accused of "concealing" significant info from the public."
They are damned if they do and damned if they don't--- IMO.

That's 1 of the lessons I'm learning as I get my journalism degree. I may be faced with a few "can't win for losing" type situations where no matter what you do, someone won't be happy

I will dig through some of my sources and see what I can come up with. I had to get up at 4am for work today so I missed the news. I think I gave a warning similar to this a couple of weeks ago but didn't say it was imminant. I don't think that a woman will be used in the first homicide attack in New York. Here is a thought. Now if you place many attackers at different locations near time square on 12-31-03 then you might have something. Maybe they have some good intel mixed with some bad.

9/11 was not out of the blue. It had been in the making for many years. Our own FBI and CIA knew about it and did nothing. IMO, imminent or not, I would want to know if I am threatened. After 9/11, no one should take any threat as a "jump the gun" You should take it seriously everytime we are warned.
