Hmm...an Air France plane hitting a US target. Think about what kind of message that would send

I think somone earlier posted that the aircraft used on the flights were 747s...if the takeovers had succeeded, we would not be looking at another 9/11; it would be worse. A 747 could take a skyscraper down within seconds of impact; they are much larger than the aircraft used on 9/11.

MSNBC: Terrorists may have been in the flight crew of the aircrafts (pilots, flight attendants, etc.)

This is scary if they have infiltrated Air France. Could be a hold your breath type situation unfolding here where we hope and pray nothing happens

Wonder if we will see the code go to red between now and January 1st?

This has been reported in news articles online since November. I'm not sure why Fox News is just reporting this now.

I've heard a new report that Reuters is wrong. It sounds like the US heard of increasing chatter about these planes being used for terrorist attacks.

If we continue to see an increase in chatter I wouldn't be surprised.

Good to hear that that may not be the case.

No-Fly Zone In Effect Over Downtown Chicago

Wednesday, December 24, 2003, 2:28 p.m.

(Chicago-AP) -- The Federal Aviation Administration put a no-fly zone in effect for downtown Chicago today. O'Hare and Midway airport air traffic is not affected.

FAA spokesman Tony Molinaro said the move came at the direction of the Department of Homeland Security.

Molinaro said air traffic is not allowed to come below three-thousand feet in the zone. Its boundaries are Lake Michigan on the east, the Dan Ryan Expressway and Ashland Avenue on the west, the Eisenhower Expressway on the south and Irving Park Road on the north.

Molinaro said the restriction is temporary but he does not know how long it will last. He said it does not affect planes from O'Hare and Midway airports because they fly above three-thousand feet.

I think the code could definately go to red soon. I'm flying the day after christmas and this is not the kind of stuff I want to be seeing in the news. We can't let it get to us though, that's exactly what they want...Americans to be scared.

I am concerned about going to Red as well. Probably close to New Year's. That is my *uninformed* opinion.

Im not sure what code red would mean as we have never seen it before but... Wouldnt code red be like marshall law where there would be a cerfew and you could not leave your home? I hope it never gets to that but with the previous code oranges we have had, I dont recall there being this much restrictions so something may be up-hopefully they get whoever it is.

Did anyone hear if the top brass at the Pentagon returned yet from their so-called "trial run"?

I have heard that if Code Red were to occur.. there would be mass shutdowns of airports. I heard this cause the other day they said a code red in Orlando may shut down OIA
