azskyman's baseball prediction sounds great to me! 8-)

Jara - I think you are making a few very bold predictions. But I like your chances.

Just got this from CrisisAlertNet:
AP reporting: DOVER, Del. - Tests confirmed avian flu on a second central Delaware farm, a surprise that creates a "serious situation" for the region's poultry industry, state agriculture officials announced Tuesday.

I guess I need to read up on this "bird flu." Does it only affect birds or are we at risk?

We are at risk also, there have been several deaths reported overseas, I believe.

Darn it...that didn't happen.

GalvestonDuck wrote:9) A horse with a patriotic-sounding name will win the KY Derby and a horse with a color in its name will place.

Here's a list of early contenders. I think I'll go with Friends Lake since this is the last season for "Friends." Weird way to do it, I know. However, I correctly picked "Winning Colors" a few years ago because NBC (with its colorful peacock) was the #1 network at the time.

Nothing really strikes me as patriotic and there are no horses with a color in their names (although Lime is green). :)

Action This Day
Birdstone
Borrego
Castledale
Eddington
Friends Lake
Imperialism
Limehouse
Lion Heart
Master David
Pollards Vision
Preachinatthebar
Read the Footnotes
Rock Hard Ten
Smarty Jones
Tapit
The Cliffs Edge
Value Plus
Wimbledon

MARCH 10, 2004 -- PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Pepsi-Cola North America will launch Pepsi Edge, the first full-flavored cola with 50 percent less sugar, carbohydrates and calories than regular cola.

Well, I was halfway right on this one.

I'm sure I caught way more than 28 strands and a handful of doubloons. Also, two cups and yes, finally, a mini-football!

Anyone else have any updates? :)

My only prediction is one that no one else has mentioned; Alfonso Rodriguez, Jr. will be charged on Federal count of "murder one", but won't make it to trial...someone will kill him, most likely another inmate.

Mike Watkins just mentioned that Storm2k was mentioned on a Tampa news station...and since Mike mentioned it on a NATIONALLY listened to radio station, I suppose that means this one came true. :)

That's NOT going to happen...

Wow Duck! Thanks for digging this back up. Some people's predictions have been right on (i.e. Ronald Reagan passing) or pretty darn close so far!

Yup! I'm still amazed at this one:
4) An Oscar-winner will become the parent of twins (who, in the future, will become actors also).

Julia Roberts (Oscar for "Erin Brokovich") is preggers with twins. :)

As long as we don't have to wait a month to know who the winner is while hanging chads are viewed with magnifying glasses and all the news channels run 24-hour marathons of coverage on the recounts. :)

Looks like Shawn and Azskyman had the best predictions so far this year. Here is how everyone who made predictions stacked up:

*I put two numbers down, because some depend on how you interpret the statement.*

GalvestonDuck: 7 or 8
Azskyman: 6 or 7
Wx247: 3 or 4
Cycloneye: 2 or 3
Skywatch_NC: 2 or 3
