It is one of the last pristine pieces of land that man has not screwed up yet. It should stay that way and we should continue to develop other sources of energy and use it.

I was going to say almost the exact same thing! lol Alaska IS a great state...I did some gold prospecting up there once and I love the summers there....24 hours of sun!

I personally have a problem with it given the recent disasters around the world. (on near the galapagos and one off of spain's coast). I think we can survive on other nations oil...we have the best deal out of just about any other country gas-price-wise and i don't see why we need to change it. By the time the oil runs out there we will no longer need to be dependent on oil period and can use other forms of less damaging energy...especially given bushes new plan to further fuel cell research. I think they even have a few fuel cell stations in germany and france.
