The fun part of American Idol is the first round auditions.

Stephanie, I feel sorry for John Stevens too. I think he is still there because people are taking his youth into consideration. He'll probably be the next to go. He does have a mellow and distrinctive tone to his voice - he just hasn't developed any control.

I don't think that he can really adjust his singing style to be more mainstream. However, I can still see him being successful as a "crooner". Look at Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, etc. there's definately a market for people that can actually SING!

Fantasia and LaToya ROCKED tonight! I voted for Fantasia. I was surprised by Goegre's performance tonight. I think it was one of his worst. John Stevens didn't do so bad either, but he is just so out of place in this competition. When he actually does well (which is rare!), it's only in one small genre. Tonight was his night to show everyone that he deserves to be the next Idol, but he fell short. I also felt sorry for Jasmine. She didn't do very bad, but having to perform after Fantasia must be hell. That's a tough act to follow.
