Would that be General McCarthy? Until I know I can't respond. LOL!!

No, that would be Senator McCarthy from the 50's that created a "Black List" of supposed supporters of Communism, etc. What it did was ultimately threaten free speech. You were considered a "traitor" for supporting certain causes and disagreeing with what the government said. It was like the Salem witch trials of the 1600's. I think that is one of the reasons why I got so hot under the collar when in the beginning of the war in Iraq people were making comments that they were "unpatriotic" for their opposition to the war in general.

Good point Linda. However even with that there could be room for improvement. If i am to assume correctly the hackers were not from the USA? Even if they were i do believe we have laws in this country already set up before the patriot act to deal with that sort of thing? Did we not?

And to begin with the Patriot act was supposed to be set up for the war on terrorism and not that?

The Patriot Act was created more or less in 1995. Ashcroft just added ammendments to it.

The man John Ashcroft

If Ashcroft blamed Clinton for leaving the U.S. open for the 9/11 attack, why does he and many others think the attack didn't happen while Clinton was President? If it was his fault, it seems as if it would have happened while he was in office.

Both he and Mueller are fed up with the Commission laying all the blame on the Bush administration. So they struck back. :D

What he means is that all the signs were there under the Clinton Administration for them to plan and carry out 9/11.
