I have RCN cable...they offer cable, phone, and high-speed internet service...I have both the cable and high speed internet service and it is great!

Yes Cable is a beautiful thing and very fast but from what i am hearing it's getting faster and faster which is a good thing . But remember with cable it's like a two way street without a router people can send things into your system without any protection(router) my friend fell victim to that never got a router never though he need it until one day his system was doing all types of crazy things and then it would not reboot after a healthy repair bill got it back and i asked him what happen he said they found several viruses in his system.
