Good Isobar that you will make your own review and not be influenced by other people. :)

The movie was very, very good ... There were several story plots beside the main one, and whether or not, you believe the theory that's offered, the story itself was tight-knit ... the special effects were absolutely incredible and details were not missed ... it is a special effects extravaganza, plain and simple ... I will probably see this again, hopefully, not by myself this time ...

Hey all - I noticed I just missed a 30 minute segment of behind the scenes footage from The Day After Tomorrow, on Channel E! this morning. I did a search and it airs a few more times....

From tvguide.com:

Behind the Scenes
The Day After Tomorrow
30 mins.

“The Day After Tomorrow” is spotlighted. The sci-fi thriller revolves around an abrupt climate change brought on by global warming. Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ian Holm and Sara Ward star.

Sunday, May 30, 3:00 a.m. (EST)
Sunday, May 30, 7:30 a.m. (EST)
Monday, May 31, 3:30 a.m. (EST)

I noticed HBO is running a special about making the movie too. We don't have HBO but if you do a search at tvguide.com, it will come up.

I can't wait for this movie to come out on DVD. I can add it to Twister and The Perfect Storm.

Ok, we went to the midnight showing, day 2. I enjoyed seeing and hearing it on the big screen...but the book was more exciting, and had a few good scenes that were changed up in the movie....like, the ending!lol If you loved the movie, I say, read the book! There is a different wolf scene as well...I "felt" the anxiety, and such much more in the book...

Day after Tomorrow...

It was a good movie for special effects. Wow, I would love to mention a couple of them, but I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't seen it yet. The story line was a bit weak, though, we thought.

I seen it

I seen The Day After Tomorrow......i liked it ...but i think it paints way too pretty a picture of what i believe will happen to us unless we change our ways here on planet Earth.....I think unless there is some dramatic change one day we will face far worse than what was seen in that movie. ONLY peace and love with all life can save us. Peace and love must be elevated from the "nonsense" and "romantic" and "foolish" and "idealistic" levels they are on now and be absolute NUMBER ONE level there is and the only thing there is....and Peace and Love must rule this world totally. There is no other way.

God didnt create this world to be a perpetual war zone and to be a greedy cheapskate zone forever....God created this world to be a loving paradise.......Just reread The Lords Prayer and youll see that im right and youll see that His world will come back one day ...peace and love ...forever.

Just saw this movie today. It's your typical disaster movie, with the usual elements - couple estranged, son/daughter in the path of the disaster, officials not believing experts, etc. But it's a good movie still the same. I recommend seeing it. Special effects alone are worth it. The list of credits rolls for at least 5 minutes. I know that because my daughter needed the bathroom and I waited and waited, LOL. All the while I could still see the credits rolling, it sure took hundreds of people to pull off this movie!

And now I want to read the book! That will be on my agenda next, to call the library to see if it's even on the shelf. Probably a long waiting list for it!

I don't know about you guys, but our theater had the AC on full blast to add to the "cooling" effects! I remember when one of the theaters in Lexington did that during "Alive," the film about the rugby team that was stranded in the snowy Andes mountains after their plane crashed. Most movie theaters are cool to begin with, but it adds something when they try to "freeze" you and make you feel a part of the action.

And considering how hot it was here yesterday, it felt really good. :)

On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a 7. It was entertaining and had great effects. But it wasn't anything exceptional, IMO.

We were at a Drive in theater with 3 screens lastnight...DAT was playing on the screen next to what we were seeing...hubby let the car battery DIE, so as we were waiting for the guys to come give us a jump, we watched some of DAT, a second time...It was cool up on that huge screen, but like you said the cold a/c was cool, its also much better inside a theater for the sound....the sound is amazing in that movie, and you just don't get it on your car stereo at a drive in!

Shawn - I'm turning into my mom now - I bring sweaters to restaurants and movie theaters all summer long. And yes my family teases me. But hey it beats shivering during a meal or movie! I think both types of businesses turn it way down. Too low, if you ask me. But maybe there are others that are always hot. Not me. My sister-in-laws jokes that when the times comes I won't have hot flashes, they'll just be warm or lukewarm ones. LOL

Saw it tonight and am posting this before I read the other responses. I liked it and more to my surprise my wife liked it, she said on par with Independence Day. I am a big believer in the de-salinization of the north atlantic as being a weather havoc maker. I think the LA tornados were unrealistic, the flooding of New York Ok, the intense cold and storminess impressive. I wonder what is this buiness about -150F temps being pulled down to the surface in a matter of seconds. The dialogue and non-weather plot was ok but I had anticipated it being worse. Overall, on a scale of 4, a 3 star movie. Would be interested in other's feedback on the technical merits or aspects of some of the resultant weather portrayed in the movie. Thanks
