I support President Bush because he is the right man at the right time.

I think a solid liberal ticket, will help you understand the worst that you will get with the Kerry/Edwards ticket. They will be aggressively pushing ideas that you may have turned a blind eye to. See I think you will see that there could be great benefits to their plans, of course the Bush campaign will remind you of all that can go wrong with their views and failures (however vague they maybe) that have occured in the past. See you disagree with these things above, because they are Bush and other Republicans talking points for the campaign. They will make every liberal idea sound like a bad thing. Remember that there are pros and cons to every single idea out there, and you must weigh those with an open mind and see who falls on your side. Then of course there is a trust factor. I personally dislike some of the arrogance President Bush portrays, but many people like this same sort of arrogance because it is a good for rallying support and ratcheting up emotions.

I can't wait for debate season.

Then lets here the good that is involved with the points I made?! I pointed out reasons that I support Pres Bush and am against Kerry/ Edwards. You respond by saying the same tired liberal lines instead of debating the merits of my statements or why you disagree. I listed policies that Democrats support and I do not. No one argues that these are Liberal policies or beliefs. How about arguing the facts and leaving the Democrat talking points you spouted at home?!

Jara... I am curious as to why higher taxes is a negative thing?

I understand that I don't want my taxes raised, but if it is necessary why is it so evil?

Points? you made no points. Try harder next time. I won't defend accusations like these. Give me some real reasons, not ones made up by Washington spin artists, and I will debate them. Personally the Class Warfare one is an incredibly hard issue for Democrats to deal with, because they agree that higher income people should pay a greater percentage of taxes, I don't think it is class warfare, but in order to rally support for this they often use statistics like "the top one percent... " and these can be condenscending I agree. so I gave in on one point, but I am not ready to respin the others as they are way too vague, and are not really issues.

It would be nice to lower taxes, but trying to balance the budget and pay off the national debt, requires some patience in doing so. raising taxes doesn't neccessarily solve problems either though to be fair. basically Republicans feel that money in the hands of corporations and the wealthy will work its way down to middle-income employees and promote development of business and stimulate growth. however democrats feel it is better to give it directly to the middle-class workers. Corporations often take the money and run, just as the middle-class worker does when he gets his paycheck. and we feel it would better help those more in need.

Good points Bill!

I would love to pay less in taxes, though I know that if I want Social Security, Homeland Security, the national transportation system, etc. to be fully funded and operational, I need to pay for that. It is totally irresponsible to spend more and reap in less income - corporations and individuals go bankrupt doing so. They need to be fiscally responsible and so must our government. If we lower taxes without another source of income to supplement it, then services need to be cut. We all know there's all kinds of waste in the government - we need to demand that it becomes more efficient as well. Stating in your campaign that you are going to lower taxes is all fine and dandy, but DO YOU HAVE A PLAN as to how things will continue to run without interruption, lack of funds, etc. In most cases, I'd say no they don't - it's a campaign slogan.

Gov. Jeb Bush, the president's brother, said Kerry's choice "really solidifies the fact that this is the most liberal ticket that the Democrats have put up for, basically, modern times. If you look at the voting records of those two guys, they are way out there in left field."

give it to middle class workers? no, you mean forcibly take it from someone who earned it and redustribute it to someone else. and bill, corporations employ people and create jobs, not the govt.

There needs to be more of an incentive to buy stocks based on dividend earning of profits made rather than the value of a stock share, which is typically based on sales figures and not direct profits. To own a share of a company should mean you share that portion of its profits. This would stimulate profit growth in companies and create real value to stocks. I know this may seem irrelevent to taxes, but it would help create more fiscal responsibility in corporations, and hopefully government would follow suit. I believe the more fiscally responsible we become the better we can shave costs and bring tax money back to the people who earned it.

All taxes are forcibly taken from people. I understand you dislike of it, but this is my opinion. Of course, we could just have no taxes, and let the government create a debt driven economy. I am sure you would have no problems there.

why is it necessary? here is an idea, if edwards and kerry feel they are being undertaxed, why dont they just send in extra money to the govt?
did they take advantage of any tax breaks on their tax returns? did teresa take advantage of any? there is no law that says you have to take a tax break. edwards and kerry are lying hypocrites, plain and simple.

I will concede to understanding this portion of your post. but you make it seem as if we live off the WORK of others. when we are the ones busting our tail for 9.50 per hour. I am sure those who make 500,000 dollars per year worked hard to get to where they are, but they are certainly reaping the benefits of an economy where those who own the means of service and production, run free with the economy at their choosing. Luckily we have unions and such to atleast level the playing field a bit.

well I wouldn't call them hypocrites. Yeah it would have sent a message to refuse their tax refunds, but oh well they didn't. They want to change the laws though, and if they changed them, they wouldn't get those refunds, so I don't think they are hypocrites. Just not very charitable Lol.
