I can't help but put a word in here This is a message board for fun, recreation, education and discussion. When political topics are discussed there are going to be people who disagree. The more off-center in either way your views are the more of a reaction you're going to get. That's a fact and goes not only for this board but life in general! If you don't want to have people respond to your posts don't post them, it's that simple.

As an administrator of this board I can say that all in all, the STORM2K group has dealt with very polarizing issues in a very thoughtful and most often courteous manner. Through the course of discussions I've personally found common ground with folks that tend to be a little more liberal than I. (Just ask Stephanie ) At the same time, I have taken exception to some of the posts I disagreed with on the more conservative side of the board as well. The best rule of thumb I can offer is to make your posts to the point. Off-handed swipes at issues and people will usually receive the same treatment when people respond.

At STORM2K everyone is welcome as long as they can play in the community sandbox. If someone feels they can't, then they need to leave. Sorry to sound harsh but that's the way it is.!

Arizwx my comments were not targeted at anyone specific. We have had several instances over the last several months where people have felt the need to leave for various reasons. This is a personal choice each of us has to make. My point was that Storm2K is a diverse group and therein lies it's strength! People that post opinions on either pole of the political spectrum can expect a response in kind. That's just life!
Everyone here has the choice to read, respond, ignore or leave. Freedom is wonderful! I personally choose not to respond to some posts because I think they are so far off-base it's not worth my time. Again, my choice!

I sincerely hope that everyone stays as part of the family. The diversity is a real strength of the board!

I must agree with Arizwx's sentiments within this thread. I couldn't have said it better myself. Stand up and defend yourself if you feel so strongly on an issue, even if it offends most people. However, this is the behavior of a far left-wing Liberal. They tend to get very haughty, flustered and sometimes violent when challenged on an intellectual level, and their beliefs are proven to be what they are...shallow and not supported with realistic ideals. Some tend to want to live in this utopia fantasy world, where everyone just seems to love each other. That, in itself, is sophomoric in nature, as WannabeHippie has proven to be time and time again. I also find it hard pressed to call an individual that makes such strong statements without factual support "intelligent". It seems to me that the entire meaning for this thread was to take an undermining blow at AZ for his correct, intelligent, and revealing replied to our Liberal resident...

WannabeNO ONE on here is any better than anyone else..No matter if they try to seem that way or not. I myself have had to back off a few times not because I couldn't handle it but because sometimes it's not worth it...We can all get along and disagree at the same time..Please stay. many of you, who shall remain nameless, have shown time and time again not only a lack of respect for my political beliefs but a lack of respect for me as a person.
it is one thing to disagree with me, but you should at least respect me for my beliefs on the issues.
and it is entirely another to show a lack of any respect to me personally.

there are some who i argued with on the issues, who at least showed respect to my stands. for those i thank for their respect.

all this being said i will no longer put up with this lack of respect.

therefore i am leaving this forum, and hopefully will find another, where i can express my opinions, have an honest debate on the issues and be respected for my stands.

I reviewed your last entry last evening re: the Haliburton thread,which I believe has precipitated your discomfort here.My spirited participation within that thread I suspect,is at least part of you decision to leave.This is a shame.Your last retort was actually quite good.Very good.It was cohesive and logical for the most part.I enjoyed it and it caused me to pause and research.I rarely do this, unless I believe it may have merit deserving of my time to pursue it.Therefore,the debate was healthy.

firehead was well-meaning in his response, but that's not the big picture at all; I was having severe chest pains, BP well over norms; and I do have to keep my stress level at minimum tolerances, if I intend to SEE firehead graduate from high school.
