God bless each and every soldier! This is terrific news!

Perhaps the joy of the American people over this wonderful rescue will overshadow any negative attention this war is having. There's still more of our guys/gals missing over there..........prayer works wonders!

Many friends and I are planning to be on the Court House front lawn (here in Adrian, Mi.) tomorrow waving our flags with a multitude of other supporters.......this rescue will surely bring in more participants!........p  [/b]

The latest news is that Jessica suffered multiple gunshot wounds but is stable in a US hospital. This was just on CNN. No word on whether these happened during the ambush or after she was taken as a POW.

I'm so happy for her family....they're baby is alive and safe!!!!! :) :)

Isn't that a miracle. Just think how her, and her family and friends feel. I'd like to able to tell them that they had a good friend in Douglasville. Go Perry Go Perry Go Perry :D

Can you imagine how great the Special Ops team that got her out felt! That had to be the best rush of all time! :-)

However, CNN reported that Lynch suffered multiple gunshot wounds during the rescue. Her condition was said to be stable.

This was from reuters.com

From reports, it sounds as if she is doing great!

Her family must be in seventh heaven.

Jessica may well be aboard one of our carriers for initial stabilization, but the hospital at Ramstein is THE biggest military medical facility outside the US, and she's certain to be transferred there before this is all over.

As to those bodies...they WILL PAY, and dearly, for that. :grrr:

Also late reports that she may have been wounded in the rescue. Better that than stay in the hands of those animals!

Better to see her stabilized in Ramstein, IMHO, than to be flown home immediately; we have no idea of the extent of her injuries, and best to play safe than sorry later. She IS in OUR hands, y'know...the happy reunions can wait until she is well enough for intercontinental travel.

I haven't seen any reports that say she's in Germany yet just a coalition controlled hospital. The normal route is to stabilize in theatre, move as soon as practicle to a larger facility (usually Ramstein, Germany) for further evaluation and de-briefing, and then back to the US. The hospital at Ramstein is one of the best hospital's in the US Military so it's a great place for her to go on her way home! :-)

Jessica and her family have thousands of good friends here in Douglasville...as do all of our brave young men and women in harms way. There are flags waving and yellow ribbons on nearly every home in town....and prayer services at every house of worship in Douglas County. Candlelight vigils are being held at churches, in front of the courthouse, and at private businesses. One of those brave American POW's is a native of Douglas County...a graduate of Douglas County high school (Chief Warrant Officer Ron Young, Jr.).

Jessica's story touched me so deeply because she reminds me so much of both my little sis and our mother. Also, Jessica is from Appalachia...as was my mom (rural northeast Tennessee). Like I told you in the pm, I'd never seen or heard of Jessica Lynch until March 23rd...tonight I feel like she's family (and my sis feels the same way :)

While I'm overwhelmed and uplifted by her rescue, I'm very sad to learn several other brave young American POW's weren't as fortunate. I grieve for them...and pray for their families

Yes it is great! Just heard this now! It is horrible about the less fortunate, but if they at least saved her, it is still a miracle!!!
