JQ your assumptions are incorrect on the radio stations NOT playing the chicks because of money. Stations across the gulf coast have banned them for MORAL reasons and have stated over and over again they could careless about the money.
Yes they had the right to express their opinions, but had to use their fame to do so. I have the right to boycott them and use whatever means possible to have them deleted from my favorite radio station in protest. They got a true blue reality check. One thing about Pearl Jam too, they did not stay in the press about it like the Chicks. Funny about the eerie silence coming from all those Hollywood Bush bashers. Noone painted the Chicks into a corner but themselves.
If I recall you bashed Trent Lott for supposedly making a racist statement. When in fact he did not. But you went with the media flow to bash him too. Isn't that a bit double standard? Same thing for the Chicks.
got my naked Dixie Chicks Mag Saturday

your good Linda...you're right on the "money" about this being a moral issue with the radio stations. Let's not forget JQ's and alike....Country Music is traditionally good wholesome music about life, love, and ooze that Patriotic spirit with enthusiasm unmatched in the Music Industry. If you (Dixie Chicks) are going to take the exact opposite position than that of your peers, you best be prepared to pay the price.
Just a bit of info for you all. The next stop for the Chicks is in Greensboro, NC. Word is that a counter concert is in the works for the same night. THis is going to be one miserable road trip for Natalie and her buddies.

The really sad thing about the whole deal is the fact that these girls are very talented musicians. My question is...why does someone with musical knowledge (at a professional level) and millions of devoted fans that pour millions of dollars in their pockets, would even consider stepping through the political door?? :38:

We say bum in Pittsburgh. She has a big bum!!!!!
She also has a big mouth and I will also supply the duct tape.
Our country is all about freedom, which means, as Lindaloo said, I am free to boycott them in any and every way. On April 5, I attended my nephew's wedding in Georgia. It was the wedding of two Marine pilots. The bride and groom walked thru the arch of swords with all Marines in full dress. After the wedding and at the reception, the Dixie Chicks were banned. These Marines refused to listen to their music.
It's just a shame that brave men have died to give her the right to shoot off her mouth in a foreign country. Actually, we, the adoring public, have created these egotistical giants who believe their words have credence. I think she should have just stayed in France. I hope it's over for her over here!!!!!!
Ok, Ok, I'm done
