They really just need to give him the "shot" tomorrow, and save the tax payers all that money...

So you all would advocate executing all murderers...?

I find it odd that a woman can kill five of her children and live, while a man kills his wife and is executed...

How on earth did you come up with that kind of conclusion? No one here in this thread has even implied that!

Well, what makes you want to execute Peterson in particular?

The man didn't want a baby so he willfully decides to kill his pregnant wife and dumps her (and their baby) into San Fran Bay...then acts like nothing happened while carousing with Amber Frey. Laci and Conner were both an inconvenience to Scott and he wanted them OUT of his life!

I agree, he is a scumbag, but does he deserve to die for it? All murders make no sense, and all murders are horrible. I don't see how this murder is different from any other murder.

From what I've heard, Peterson will now die in prison of old age due to lengthy appeals and death sentence process in CA.

IMO, death seems too kind for this murder, therefor a long appeals process appeals to me. Nothing could be finer than for this guy to spend each and every day wondering when will be his last day and dealing with the terrors that will come his way on Death Row for many years to come. And add in Alicia's idea for wallpaper for Scott's cell.

Amen. He should be executed. However, Peterson is entitled to ONE guaranteed appeal. After that, his case is at the mercy of the individual courts.

Except we pay for him hanging around.. And I think he will stop "worrying about it" after hanging around for so many years

I wonder if Vegas will be giving odds as to how long it will before he's gang raped for the first time.

I'll be an old man before he is put to death, if he ever is.

I personally think life was a better choice to THINK about what he did for the rest of it. He'll be wishing he got death then. As it stands now, he'll get a NEEDLE stuck in him. It won't even hurt... :grr:

The final judgement will be up to God and he's a lot better at it than any of us. :-) I have supreme confidence that he'll get his just reward....

Some states still use it... although there has been a large trend away from it.

At least 10-15yrs most likely...

The defense has some very good grounds to appeal on...Circumstantial evidence and the bizarre way two jurors were dismissed..

I doubt he makes it that long anyways...The first few years he will be fairly safe, but then little by little his protection within the prison system will diminish...

Excellent points there Stratosphere and I agree. In addition, I am not sure about CA law... but here in VA if there is a case where death is appointed as a verdict... there is an AUTOMTATIC APPEAL to the VA Supreme Court... BEFORE there are any other appeals. In addition... there appear to be some very interesting rulings from appeals courts and the USSC regarding juror conduct...

He'll sit on death row for five years before his first mandatory appeal. CA has a long history of commuting death sentences to life in prison, which would put Peterson in with the general cell population. Once there... he won't live long.
