A bit off-topic, but related. My sister rides the bus to and from school each day. Well, a couple of months ago one afternoon she was getting off and she has to cross the little side street in front of my house, well, people are supposed to stop and let the people cross, but this driver got impatient and goes AROUND the bus into the other lane going 50-60 mph(which is too fast on this road when there's no traffic). If my sister hadn't known to look before she crosses she would have been hit. :grr:

The bus drivers here would write the license plate number down and report it to the police. That person WOULD be issued a ticket.

I thought the Northeast was bad!

A big parking pet peeve to me is having an SUV or 2 SUV's either side of your car...I refer to them as HIGH-Tops...it would be the same with a van...I suppose...BUT...these SUV's for some reason seem longer in size of course and say...you arrive in the lot and pull into a spot...no HIGH-Tops around at all at the time near your vehicle (a car)...I know it can't be helped...but sure makes for a pain-stakingly time of it trying to leave your spot...your visibility blocked...cannot be in a hurry...(which is what some motorists need to learn!)
...the 'joys' of shopping! Thank goodness for online and catalogue shopping as alternatives! :) Also, thankfully I am a very patient person! :)
A few extra seconds lost to me just doesn't matter...as I know I'll get there eventually. :)

Whoeee buddy! I drive a Mustang so I feel your pain. Or how about when you're trying to make a right turn and one of those view-busters pulls up so far on your left you can't see squat? I've finally trained my pick-up driving hubby to watch for those situations and adjust accordingly.

 IS WAL-MART CURSED?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

First, a Burleson Wal-Mart got peppersprayed and robed, then another Wal-Mart in the DFW vincinity had a suspicious device.

I'm just glad that the one here in Irving hasn't been tackled.....yet.

The Walmarts here have big yellow striped crosswalk with YIELD painted on the parking lot. Kind of hard to miss! As for most people, they do yield to the pedistrians.

As for the employee driving the SUV, it doesn't say what year, make or model, so please don't be so quick to jump on all SUV drivers (and btw, I drive a Mitsu Eclipse Spyder). Was it the employees' SUV or possibly a relatives'? I hope that justice is served for her hitting the couple and killing the woman.

Actually, that's one of the reasons I bought one...  It's a Honda CRV. It cost as much as a new Honda Accord would.

At anyrate, that $#%^&@# should rot in jail. If he couldn't see the BIG YELLOW lines and realize he needed to slow down, then he shouldn't be driving! :grr:

Same here... most people do wait, but you get one or two occasional bad apples and then you get someone like this couple who forgets to look. We always look and try to get some kind of motion from the driver to let us go across.

Oh and as far as I know, there have been no charges filed in this case. I really don't see how this was an "accident" though. It happened in BROAD daylight.

I don't walk out in front of a car unless the driver says so. I told my kids not to trust someone behind the wheel. I know out west people will walk right out into traffic in a crosswalk. Personally, I think they are stupid to trust the driver to stop. Growing up in New Orleans lots of out of town people got hit because they thought the driver would stop. In New Orleans drives will not stop.....MGC
