I think drugs had to do with it too... according to the autospy both the mother and boyfriend had marijuana and other types of drugs in their systems.

The police have said that Duncan couldn't have killed the three alone (if he did at all)...the boyfriend was "huge, built like a fullback", so it appears that at least two unknown suspects were responsible. :larrow:

They are hoping that a full sweep of the vehicle Duncan was driving could lead to others, and have asked the public for assistance. The target areas include MN, ND, MT, WY, ID and WA.

Small "update"; Shasta has an older brother who was with her and their father at the hospital; at least she's not alone, and hopefully this will be a positive step towards her healing from this ordeal. :larrow:

Not only that, but, a restaurant IN THE CITY WHERE SHE WENT MISSING!!! Everyone living there knows what that little girl looks like. Maybe in a big city on the East Coast she would not have been found.

You know what, I'm glad this sicko was so stupid.

#1 - you don't walk into a Denny's at 2 in the morning, with an 8 year old child. Immediately I'd think that child should be home in bed, asleep! I had such strict bedtimes for my kids at that age.

#2 - you don't walk into a Denny's and then rip down the wanted poster, taking it to your table with you. Before ordering. Tipping someone off again.

I am just so glad this Denny's staff rallied completely together for this little girl! They were all on the same page. I read the manager was blocking an exit, the waitress made her an adult size shake, so it would take longer to sip. These are all things good, caring people need to do more of! I just know I would have done something as well, even if just a patron in the restaurant. I would have looked over and thought, how odd that a man would walk into a restaurant at this time of the night! Unless of course you were traveling....but still, we've taken overnight trips when our kids were little and we kept driving, allowing them to sleep from midnight until morning.

Again, I'm so glad he was stupid.

That was the FIRST thing that popped into my mind when I first heard the news... not that the child was safe, but that it was out at 2am in the morning. Anytime that happens, whether they are missing or not, that raises eyebrows big time.

Human remains have been discovered in Western Montana. Officials were searching for the missing boy there. NO confirmation yet though.

There seems to be evidence in the vehicle, Shasta's statements (they're handling her VERY gently and cautiously!), and now these remains. DNA testing will take about 3 days to complete. Duncan has "lawyered up". :larrow:

I just saw the videotapes of Shasta and Duncan in the convenience store...if you've seen them, note that her arms are folded the entire time (defensive), BUT...she furtively looks people in the face (trying to get someone to recognize her), then returns to looking down at the floor (defensive, submissive manner) especially when near Duncan. :grrr:

Her body language tells an ugly story, ladies and gents...she was deathly afraid of Duncan, but still had the presence of mind to seek help (albeit silently). :larrow:

OK, then...part of the court record from today's arraignment states that Duncan "repeatedly molested" Shasta and Dylan Groene, from statements by the little girl. The remains found in western Montana won't be ID'd until at least Thursday, but the sense taken from local police is that the body is that of Dylan.

IMHO, death ain't good enough for this (expletive unsaid). :grrr:

MORE! Through the little girl's answers, it's also stated that Shasta's mom woke her up that night, and brought her to the living room; then, Duncan (!) tied her mother, boyfriend and older brother up before taking the children away in a pickup truck; nothing said about how they were killed, or if the suspect did it.

I repeat the above-mentioned lambast. :uarrow: :grrr: :grrr:

There is no magic wand, no supernatural power, and no act of human kindness that can undo what Shasta and her brother had to go through.

We can crash a spacecraft into a comet, we can manufacture stunning visual effects in movies, we can send tens of thousands of men and women to defend our country's honor and hope for a future,...

but we can't...

...we just can't...

...find a way to make it right for an 8-year-old girl named Shasta.

Watching those tapes, I could cry away the night for her and her brother.

Bring back the gallows as well as a few gadgets from the Inquisition.

I'm a ardent opponent against the death penalty...

As two-faced as this seems, I have no problem with throwing this POS in a certain type of general population of the prison system, for about 5min..

Duncan is now believed to be responsible for the murders of Dylan Groene, his mother, older brother and boyfriend. :larrow: :grrr:

The motive was to take the children for his sick "pleasures", then dispose of them. There's no doubt in my mind that the family was surveilled before Duncan broke in; why he permitted Shasta to live doesn't make sense...but who knows what's in the mind of a certified psychopath? :larrow:
