Book No. 7 has already been written...Rowling finished it months ago. It's just a matter of waiting until she releases it for all of us Muggles who have come to love the series. :larrow:

Maybe you should give them a try. Many people look down on them thinking they are strictly children's books. They are not, there are as many adult fans ( if not more), as there are children.

This was the largest first printing of any book in history and they sold almost all of them the first day. The book has been out for only a couple of days and they have already gone to print on another 2.5 million copies. That alone should tell you something.

I agree, you ought to give them a shot. I was very resistant to reading them until I visited my bro/sis-in-law's place last year, unable to sleep and dying for something to read. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was all that was in that particular room...it immediately hooked me.

I agree!

Book #1, especially is the least time-consuming; it could probably be read in just a couple hours! So it's not like it will take up a significant part of you life- that is, unless you get hooked, then it will become extremely time-consuming! LOL :D

If I can be converted, anyone can! I was actually ANTI-Harry Potter for various reasons, but then my roommates convinced me that I should give it a shot, and was QUICKLY addicted. I think they are nearly just as aimed at adults as kids, especially as the books are getting darker.

Anyway, just give 'em a shot! If book 1 doesn't hook you- fine, and it won't take up very much time to read. :)

Don't just give it a few pages though, you have to stick with it through the opening chapters, until he gets to school, then the opening stuff starts to make more sense.
