ROFL - I wish we still had our Pong - I could show my kids how boring our video games were compared to now.

Also, the top load VCRs - we were the first people in town to have a VCR, and the only place to rent movies was 50 miles away - worked like Netflix - they mailed them out and we mailed them back - no late fees. My mom still has the list of movies they had available at first - there were about 100!

I was 22 in 1980 oh but i can relate to so many of these. Friday night videos...on TBS, i think...MTV when all they showed was videos...big hair....at work when the Challenger went up...Atari, had that....SNL, Chevy Chase & Landshark...my college degree has nothing to do with my career....ahhh, Luke & Laura, what a couple....Rotary phone, took forever to call home, # at that time was 984-9689 and you had to sit or lay by the phone since it wasn't portable. Ahhhhh, sometimes i long for those innocent days of my life.

I can't say what was on TBS, but there was definitely a show titled Friday Night Videos on ABC, NBC, or CBS - I am sure of that b/c we didn't have cable at our house (we lived in the country). So all we got were those three and PBS; although, in one corner of my room, I could sometimes pick up the new Fox channel with the little tiny radio/TV that we used to take camping. Holy cow, was I excited; that was the only place that channel came in, and that was the only channel I could get in my room!
