One could reasonably make the same argument about ladies leaving the seat down after using it instead of raising it for the men that are going to possibly need it up later. Best solution is for everyone to always look at the toilet seat, and make necessary adjustments, prior to attempting to sit down (or go standing up_. Just a variation of look before you leap.

Its second nature to go and do your business. Our backs are toward the toilet yours are not. I have not fallen in recentley but did as a kid several times. I think it is a thing that happens more when we girls are kids and don't think about stuff like that yet.
And the whole thing with the toilet seat is.... its just nasty to look at. Walk in and see pee around the rim of a toilet is just nasty, and half the time you guys don't flush either so its a bowl full of urine as well as around the rim. I hate to go in to use the bathroom and see that. It is just nasty.

OTown, do you walk backwards all the way to the toilet or do you turn
around when you arrive at the toilet? Why not look at the seat while you are walking toward the seat? You can also turn on the light, I always do so I can see what I'm doing, even if going when half asleep. The light is uncomfortable but It enables me to see whether or not the seat needs to be raised/lowered, based on what I need to do. Is it unreasonable to expect the same from the ladies (namely looking before you go)?
