 $$$$$$$

Fur: Caiti got into Winterguard this past year... BIG time money there too!! Uniform, Flags, Sabre and Rifle. She plans on continuing next year, so I am already planning fundraising events for them. When she gets to the high school level it is $1000 just to join the team, if you make it.

Hey, I say when your kids are at home and in school, encourage them to do all they can. If kids participate in a lot of activities in school then as adults they will not be afraid to try new things and forge ahead. Spend the money now..... then when they are gone... you can spend it on yourself....

Kids are the number 1 job in a parents life... when those kids are home, they need guidance and love. When they finish school, kick them to the streets.....

Boy, it really helps when kids can get summer jobs in school. Then they can buy some of their school clothes. I used to take half of all paycheck from them, then when school started we would go shopping with what I saved for them. They had quite a bit after 3 months of working in the summer. I put in some of my money tho. But their working sure helped.

OK...Moms of cheerleaders can be pretty freaking witchy...which I discovered at practice number 2....lol. This giant monster looking mom, (whom you know never fit into a cheer skirt and vest herself)...was helping spot, while the girls were stunting (pyramids)...she comes back over to where the parents are sitting, and starts blasting the "new girl"...my daughter...I was speechless for a moment, and getting pissed...then one of the moms asked who our daughter was...and I said "Chloe', the new girl, this is her second practice, isn't she doing great? " lol...They became a bit more friendly after that...I had just spent the afternoon in the Dr.'s office with my son that day, and read an article telling you how to handle nasty, witchy comments from people...I'm glad I read it...and didn't just tell the rhino off!!!! :) :ggreen: :cheesy:

It feels much better to take the high road, and then blast the meanie here with you guys! lol

Kill 'em with kindness fur......

I try to take the high road too....it's not always traveled but you feel better after taking that road!

My witchy mom experience was when I enrolled in college classes again while my kids were in school all day(my uh second attempt at a college degree!). As I was walking into the building I saw a mom I knew from their Elem school. She and I both served on a committe just prior to that so I lapsed into a hello, her name, how are you, I didn't think I'd know anyone taking classes here, yada yada.......thinking, oh how nice to see a familiar face amidst that sea of 18-22 year old faces. LOL She came back with and I quote - who are YOU and HOW do I know YOU?

I did a double take and muttered - oh well, just a few weeks ago, we served on the same committe, I know you from my kids school PTA! Nothing back.....complete blank. Then in a witchy way she said how her boss was making her taking a class there. That she didn't even want to be in college at her age. Looking at me as if to ask - and why are YOU in college?

I came home to tell Nina about my encounter and she said "oh that's Jessica's mom.....Jessica's a biotch Mom. Just to tell you that." The fruit didn't fall far from the tree in that family.

I was never rude back to someone I hardly knew ever since then. I even faked it a few times. Which is terrible to admit but if the other mom knew my name, I was very friendly.

Smile, smile and smile some more until your face cracks!
