True, they lose a few civil rights, but not all or even most as was implied by the poster I responded to.

I'm not sure where states derive the authority to take away voting rights, though. As far as I know, the Constitution doesn't make mention of such authority. However, most all other civil rights are retained even by felons in the US.

Do I need one??? Read your local paper gtalum. How many people arrested for crimes have their occupation listed as "unemployed"?
And please dont tell me being umemployed made them rape and kill.
