I love summer as long as it stays in the upper 80s and low 90s. When we put together a string of heat like we've had lately, I despise it. Add to that, summer weather is pretty boring with almost no rain. It's back to school time and there are heat advisories out again. We nned a cooldown.

I enjoy summer...but I love fall the best! I'm ready for cool evenings, simmering pots of stew or soup, my pumpkin-scented candles, enjoying a glass of wine on the front porch with my hubby...ahhhh

Pretty soon (about 2 weeks from now), the robins will begin their migration south to the southern USA.

PS: According to wikipedia, robins come back to Iowa in very early March and leave in late august.

Could not agree with you more furry! I'm so ready to shovel snow, build fires, bake again, wear my winter sweaters....

Our temps never went as high as yours did, but we've had high humidty for so long now. I'm sick of this wx!

However, I fear we won't have a very cold winter! Sigh.....

Oooo, I love clean, crisp, snowy days...give me a fireplace, a nice cozy sofa, a bottle of wine and a few good movies and I'm set  (hoping to make the above true this year too)

I could swear I heard geese flying south this morning; they were flying somewhere! Of course, I didn't get out of bed to look!

NOW......I am SO ready to for WINTER, not so much the snow but the dam TOURISTS will be GONE :x I have NEVER, EVER seen SOOOOooooooooo many people in my life, it's ridiculous to say the least! I know, I know, "If you don't like it MOVE!" But this has been the busiest summer ANYONE has ever seen, tempers are flaring, road rage is rampant, seriously, we've had 5 rr incidents between yesterday and today. This area was NOT meant for 60,000+ people on the road every weekend! "Waaa, waaaaa, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

I love winter! Summer can be good, but generally, weather-wise, summer is my least favorite season. We have all 4 seasons here, but we don't always get Fall (half the time it transitions straight from summer to winter; we can get some pretty brutal Indian Summers). I hate the 90+ heat everyday, but I love it when we can get some good thunderstorms. This summer it's been very hot, but we've also had brutal t-storms, so it's been a mix. It's the wettest summer we've had in a while, though, which is very nice, but it's also been one of the hottest, which is not nice. I have very low heat tolerance.

Winter on the other hand is awesome...we get tons of snow here, and the temperatures are cold, but rarely ever too cold. We get some good fog days sometimes too, with our brutal inversions (some call them brutal, I call them nice!). We never get ice, and we rarely ever get blizzards, it's usually just nice, steady snow. And then sometimes it warms up into the 50s and we see some rain, and just before the fronts move in we get a full day of high wind. I love wind. Winter is just perfect for me. I'm a sucker for the extreme weather, can't you tell? 8-) Spring is good, too, since we usually get perfect temperatures with a nice mix of rain, snow, and wind.

I find it quite the opposite. I just plop by a body of water and jump in when I get hot. And actually having a good sweat feels good at times. I don't go outside when the temp goes below 60, I can never stay warm, once I get the shivers which is easy for me, I can not get rid of them till I get a hot shower. I guess its different for each person, but I would rather sweat to death than freeze to death, that feeling of your whole body tightening up and you just can't relax when your cold, on the other hand I can fall asleep in the heat laying in the sun.

You can tell that the days are getting shorter. Sunrise isn't until almost 6:30 now.

I'm up at 5:30 M-F so I can catch the bus at 6:43 or be on my bike by 7:00. The bike will come to an end before long because we live in a river valley and we frequently get fog in the fall mornings.

I hate summer. The extreme humidity is killer. We can't even walk outside to the mailbox without getting soaked in sticky sweat, blakgh! It's too hot to do much except go to the waterpark.

I LOVE fall and winter. I love to cook big pots of gumbo, soups, etc. and I just can't do that in the summer. I also love to open the windows and let the fresh air blow through. I get in a better mood in the fall/winter months. Everything is just nicer all around.

The shadows here are changing...and the color of the sky is totally different than it was just 2 weeks ago, the sky is now a DEEP, DEEP baby blue instead of a powder blue! I LOVE autumn! 8-)

I LOVE summer. I guess it is because I love anything having to do with the water. I love waterparks, swimming, the beach, boat riding, fishing. Even though we sometimes break out the shorts here in coastal SE Louisiana here in January. Last winter was so mild here. I was swimming as early as March here. I don't care for the winter too much. Find it very boring and it never snows here unless it is once every 15 years. I never like cold weather unless there is the possibility of snow.
