The Houston ABC affiliate has Marvin Zindler, who's closing in on 90. Recognized by his numerous white wigs and blue tinted glasses, he's famous for bringing down "The Chicken Ranch", the house of ill repute in LaGrange, the story of which became "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." Dom DeLuise loosely portrayed him.

But he's most famous locally for his weekly "Restaurant Report" detailing the "Big 3" rats, roaches, and SLIME IN THE ICE MACHINE, which has its own theme song. His delivery is bascially him screaming at you 'til he bellows his slug out, "Marvin Zindler, Eyewitness News!"

Speaking of slime in the ice machine. How many of you drink fountain drinks? Do not buy them at the convenience stores. If you unscrew the knob where the syrup comes out you will not like what you see. Nothing but blackish slime. Nasty!!

If you're going to eat steak well-done, there's no point in paying for steak. :D

Good steak should be served rare or MAY medium rare. Anything more kills the flavor.

I have read the ingredients on vienna sausages an also the spicy sausages Tijauana Mama(I think they are called) in the convient stores. I think cow lips was close to the top of the list. I still like them and eat them. A cow is a cow and it does have to meet some sort of standards before it can be sold, so it doesn't bother me. Hot dogs are just about as bad.

I don't know how a salad could have made it to the table with a mouse in it and the server not notice. Really. Maybe they were being pain in the butt customers and the server did it on a dare, and then played stupid.

They do post the restaurants here on occasion that have failed the health inspections, and it did make me stay away. But I do know that there has got to be some nasty stuff that happens in restaurants ecspecially the fast food places that you have no idea about. Goes to show the saying is true.....What you don't know won't hurt you, at least most of the time.

It's not really the ingredients that get me.

Processed food is allowed to have a certain amount of bug remains in it at the time of processing, as it's considered impossible to keep the food free of it.

Also, it's not uncommon to find food full of bacteria and carcinogens.

And if you ever watch video from a slaughterhouse when the cows are still alive after being skinned, you'll think twice before ever eating beef again.

Hey, those bugs, mice, etc. have to eat too.

I got part of a rubber glove in a sub once. They replaced it. The sub, that is.

I just prefer mine without any pink or reddish juice coming out of it. :P

If something happens one place why blame the entire company. Trivial IMHO. I mean you get a delivery and a mouse runs in or a Fly falls in your soup. If you knew what the FDA or USDA allowed in your food you would never eat.
