3 yr old Marcus Fiesel murdered, foster parents convicted
Moderator: S2k Moderators
They still haven't found Marcus. We can hear helicopters all the way from our house (1.5 miles away). Breaking news scrolls state they've extended the search now beyond the 28 acre park. One of my very first thoughts was the middle school property where I'm employed (but school doesn't start for a week). At one time this school property was another park in our township, with a hiking trail connecting the two parks - Juilf's to Nagel Road Park. The school board purchased the Nagel Road park property and turned it into a huge middle school, our district's 6 elementaries feed in to it. There are woods surrounding the school still and I believe this trail is still there. Around the middle school are homes and busy streets. I just assumed officials were searching this former parks' property as well. With school being out though, the middle school complex would have been deserted and from there he could have kept going. His foster parent stated Marcus can climb fences. An agile, small child like this could be anywhere. Interviews with past neighbors of Marcus', have said he's very friendly and could have gone up to just about anyone (which raised my biggest fear, what if someone just took him in that 30 minute span when the mother was being medically treated).
Eric has local news links to keep you all updated. I went to sleep with Marcus on my mind, praying and woke up thinking of him as well. I just hope and pray he climbed a tree and is afraid to come down or climbed into a pipe or something.

Article says that with Marcus' degree of autism that his communication skills at present are slim to none...which is even more frightening for a youngster since they don't have verbal skills like a child without lower-functioning autism would have. Autism (low-functioning in particular) an indivdual is in a "world of their own" so to say...and some have behavior patterns like 'rocking' and making 'grunting' or 'humming' noises when they get frustrated, scared or anxious. Prayers that this precious disabled child will be found by the police...before a low-life creep (heaven forbid) would try to take advantage of the boy.
Petal pusher would know what I'm talking about in regard to low-functioning autism individuals.

Just read a few minutes ago on a newslink that Miss Mary PM'ed me yesterday evening that the search is going to be scaled back (will still include the park area where the boy walked away from his foster mother when she had a seizure) and that at 8 pm ET the search will be temporarily called off and then resume tomorrow morning.
By the words scaled back one sure hopes that this isn't an even more somber 'turning point'.
****
Dear Jesus,
Please be with this foster family, those searching and with little Marcus.
Amen

Hello all. We're back in town but were only 45 minutes from Cincinnati. So we could check on local news channels continuous scrolls. 3000 volunteers turned out and searched for 2 days. The search was stopped at 8 p.m. last evening. The majority of volunteers were asked NOT to report back this morning. From TV coverage I've seen, officials were concentrating on a 5 mile radius around the park, they visited the foster family's home twice in the past day or so, and they gave the foster father a polygraph test (stating this is standard procedure). I did find updated articles today but this doesn't sound good, not at all.

Perhaps the saddest article of all, the bio mother states:
"A 3-year-old autistic boy who disappeared from an Anderson Township park was placed with foster parents this spring after his Middletown mother told authorities he was "their problem now," according to police."
http://news.cincypost.com/apps/pbcs.dll ... /608170390
Such a sad, sad story any way you look at it. From what I can gather, there are volunteers currently searching, but it's a smaller, more concentrated number, in conjunction with officials.

So much mystery surrounds this missing child story. Officials have looked into the foster family, at statements made, the 911 call made from the park that day, etc. The search is scaled back now and has switched from a rescue operation to a recovery one. Possibly bringing in cadaver dogs. The local media has been covering this story extensively. To those following the story, thank you for the continued prayers. But so much time has passed now, authorities wonder how he could survive on his own this long (w/o food and water, if he's hiding).
And to be very honest here, since so many missing children stories have turned out tragic with family members being responsible, your mind just naturally goes that direction. You don't want it to, but it does. I blame Susan Smith completely, 100% for this mindset. Back then I believed her, for 9 full days, praying for her "missing" 2 young boys. Only to tragically discover she killed them and in such a despicable and heartbreaking act. I sobbed when that story broke and from then, each time I hear of a missing child, I watch for clues when the parents or family are interviewed. I will say I didn't think this foster father demonstrated enough anguish for his missing foster son. I wanted more emotion. And he just didn't show it. If I'm wrong, then I'd love to be wrong about him.
Here's just one of many updated articles about the story:

If anything big breaks in this story, I'll post it. Thanks everyone for prayers. I thought by now, this topic and story would be long lost, he'd be happily home with his foster family by now.

WLWT said last night, and WCPO confirmed this morning, that this was going from Search and Rescue to a recovery mission.
I hope not, but if so, it's not good for this. We're past the 2-3 days that one can easily survive with no water. So, I hope they find him, but if he's not found by tonight, I would assume the worst. Also, restauranteur and Anderson resident Jeff Ruby has just put up a $10,000 reward for info leading to Marcus or anyone responsible for his disappearance.

Yes I just heard this Jeremy. There is a pond to the east of this park and they want divers to search it. We are entering day four now. Earlier it rained hard today, for a brief time, I had hoped if he was hiding that would prompt him to come out of hiding. I just do not have the hopeful feeling he'd be found that I did just several days ago. And there is the possibility he could have been taken right after the foster mother lost consciousness, before the 911 caller found her. That's a legitimate fear and it's hard to go there.

The official, large scale search of the park has ended. Neighbors living near this park are free to continue searching but the entire area has been gone over, at least 8 times, using the most sophisticated equipment and with hundreds of volunteers. Divers searched nearby ponds, nothing. There were daily updates on local news sites and oddly today, in my Sunday morning paper, not much. Not even a front page mention. The wealthy resident, Jeff Ruby, who donated the $10,000 reward money thinks that is the way to find this little boy or more info. Mr. Ruby has stated he thinks there's more to this story than we know. The whole thing breaks my heart. I keep seeing Sheriff patrol cars all over my community, Anderson Township. They are out and in full force. Anyway, just when I couldn't find any new updates, I found this one, foster family suddenly moves out of their rented home, hours after the foster mother was released from the hospital.

Thanks again for all your prayers but I'm beginning to wonder if this little boy was ever at this park, in the first place.

The 11 p.m. newscast covered the latest last night, with more info on the sudden move. The foster family rented this house on a 1 year lease (it was in a nice, well kept neighborhood too, the typical 2 Story, 4 BR, 2.5 BA I presume). But they hadn't paid their August rent so the landlord told them they had to move. And it had to be that night. Right there, that doesn't add up. The foster mother had just come home from the hospital and we're to believe a landlord would be so heartless, as to evict them right then? Hadn't he picked up a newspaper lately? Anyway, that's the info on the move. It's not been reported where they moved to either.
Latest article, a candlelight prayer service was held last night where Marcus was born. His bio mother was present and gave a few official comments. It was also stated on the 11 p.m. news she's come out and said that it was hard for her to care for Marcus, in regards to his autism and couple that with her own medical needs at the time, that it was all too much for her.

I'll probably not update this thread as often as last week unless there is a big break in this story. It still all just breaks my heart.
