Kidnapped newborn in Missouri found safe; woman arrested

The police said the mother's wounds are consistent with self-defense wounds. They also said they think the sign in the yard announcing the birth of the baby was what drew this deranged person.

Just because someone loses consciousness or faints from blood loss doesn't necessarily mean they need resuscitation. We humans are pretty resilient. She may have recovered (to the point of regaining her normal state of awareness) on her own and then been able to call for help. Of course, she hadn't recovered in the physical sense. That took medical help.

I sure hope they find the baby.

Having just had a baby girl 17 days ago, this story makes me very sad.

I just don't know what I'd do if something happened to her.

I thank the Lord that this child was found unharmed!!

There are just WAY too many ugly stories of babies and children being harmed, forgotten, abused, etc.

Next I pray that the mother makes a complete recovery, and that the court system isn't lenient with the kidnapper. :grr:

This is one instance when I hope they will be lenient with the woman. She definitely needs a psychiatrist. She suffered a miscarriage the same day of the attack. I'm glad the baby is back in her parents arms.
