There's plenty of nudity on beaches on the east coast and Gulf Coast, too. ;)

As for movies and tv, I submit (at great risk) the stupid fascistic approach taken by the FCC in handing out multi-million dollar fines for showing a boob on tv and for saying the wrong words on the radio.

Puritanism is ridiculous because it's an attempt by some to impose their morals on others. With a very few exceptions, this is stupid and ridiculous.

The twisted comment wasn't about puritanism itself. It was about the twisted interpretation of puritanism that dominates our society. As in, "Violence on tv is great but don't show a boob or say a bad word or else we'll come after you!".

Perhaps you perceive it that way. But some people can live a puritan lifestyle, without the need to force it on others. It's simply how they live...but not necessarily how they make others live. I guess I see what you're saying now. But I took it as an offensive remark against those who choose to live like that or as close to that as possible. I don't see anything stupid or ridiculous about living with strong convictions or morals. But, again, I get your point about how you feel some who do live that way attempt to push it on others.

As far as TV, the FCC doesn't fine when there is a warning or proper rating in place, do they? The Super Bowl -- clearly that was a problem because there were children watching and there was no warning to parents (or to anyone for that matter  ). However, they showed full-frontal nudity on ER and never got fined. Furthermore, Anthony Edwards said the S word on the show and NBC never got fined for that.

Besides, the violence isn't real. The boobs are. Well, you know what I mean, sometimes they aren't "real," but they are.

I don't have a problem with people living their lives in any way they want to. It's when it affects me that I get mad. Glad we cleared that up.

I submit that I think that seeing fake violence on tv harms a child more than seeing a real boob on tv does. :)

2) Whiel I will do my bets to shield my child from nude adults while she's a child, I don't see nudity as a bad thing. It doesn't hurt kids to see nude people.

Just curious as to why you shield them from naked people if it dosent affect them.. This case aside.. Im not arguing that point.. Just wondering why you hide it from them if there is nothing wrong with it
