Cold, wet and shivering, streetsoldier and his faithful apricot toy poogle, Annabelle (she be a ho') come in for warmth and food..."May I have some of those sausages, some bacon strips, and a stack of pancakes...and the same, no pancakes, for Annabelle (she be a ho')?"

We shuffle over to a corner seat by the stove, Her Royal Poogleness wrapped around my feet as she waits for her "people food"...

Ah, your dog sounds like mine-except he would eat the pancakes too.

Good morning, ahhhh nothing better than pancakes and sausages on a cold rainy day here in the Burgh. I'll top it off with Mary's chocolate chip cookes and a big glass of milk.

Welcome angelwing!!! You'll love it here. We have a pet pig and an armadillo so watch what you step on!! My Granny's afgan is draped over the rocker. Any time you're feel chilly, just grab it and snuggle up in this friendly, warm place.

I'll grab a cup of coffee and get to work.

Thanks to O Town for that kind welcome! You live oodles closer to my grandchildren than I do -- please pop over and give them a hug for me?

I just stopped by to sit close to the stove for a bit and warm my knees. The arthritis is giving me fits today! I think it's gradually mutating into something even more beastly. Owie!

Oh, I found a recipe for pumpkin fudge today -- I'll try to bring some next time.

Thanky Pburgh! Ohhh a pet pig AND a pet armadillo? I'll have to keep an eye out for them, I didn't see them when I came in.

Think I need a hot toddy tonight, it's pouring like crazy here and it's very icky, the knees are creaking like crazy today (hey Bobie Lee maybe we can rent our knees out on Halloween for eerie sound effects, mine sound absolutely gruesome when I walk up and down stairs)

Hi Shannon!! Great to see you.

Bobbie lee, why don't you grab Granny's afghan and drap it over your knees. I know they'll feel better. angelwing, you can use it right after Bobbie lee. Yep, I know what it's like to live away from your kids and grandkids.  I go into kid withdrawal on a regular basis and have to make a road trip to get my "baby fix". lol

Ok, I'll brew a pot of Earl Grey in case Miss Mary stops in. Hey David, I brought some KK's. I hid the chocolate covered ones on the shelf above the rocker!!!

Gotta get to work
Karan

Thanks for telling where the choc. KKs are.........*snikers*

I just got home from the salon. Got my first professional coloring done. Looks good, 2 shades lighter but not too noticable. Main purpose was to cover the greys, ugh!

Good luck with the Mary Kay Shannon. My aunt did that for years, everyone in the family was using it for a long time.

I think I will pour a cup of tea and continue the relaxing day I have had so far right here by the stove. If you hear me snoring just tap my shoulder. :P

Hi!

Wasn't our 'dillo's name Slowpoke and the cow is Clarabelle??

This topic had to have been the first one that got me hooked into going to TWC and checking online everyday. What wonderful memories!!!

I love the smell of the fire in the pot belly stove. I can't feel the warmth since there's a cow, a dillo and a toy poodle lying in front of it. Who says animals are dumb????

I brought Philly's own Tastykakes. They are SINFUL as well.

Last year no one could rember the dillos name. But the pig running around eating the KKs was Crouton, I am pretty sure that was his name. He was a sneaky little fellow and fast too. Wow you guys also had a cow?

Thanks... I hope this will work out... now the issue is getting the money to cover the inventory and finding customers that will actually say 'Yes!"

Yes, slowpoke was the dillo I think and the cow probably was Clarabelle. For some reason no one ever forgets Crouton's name.

I forgot all about Clarabelle. Thanks Stephanie. Dennis is right. He openend this place right after 9/11 when all of us needed comfort, warmth and a safe place to sit around and talk with wonderful friends. We've decorated this place for Christmas and had picnics and parties on the front porch. I love it here.

I'm going to brew a pot of Earl Grey and sit back and wait for Miss Mary to arrive. I brought some sticky buns with pecans for breakfast. Help yourselves!!!

CRAP!! I forgot about Crouton! Sorry buddy!!! :(

Karan - I thought that he created this around 9/11. It was a wonderful idea at the time and still a great place to come visit every now and again.

Also, I am becoming more of a tea drinker. I actually like the flavorred teas by Lipton. My favorites are Cinnamon & Apple and Raspberry. They are quite soothing. :)

Thanks for the Earl Grey!
