I take the inside decorations and fence lights down after the Epiphany (today)-I also don't put them up until December 16th. I leave the high lights up because it's hard for me to climb a ladder now because of my arthritis.

I took our tree down ASAP (the puppy was too interested in it  ); I still have a star and white icicle lights in the window that I light most nights. I noticed last night that quite a few people around here still have their outside lights up and lit at night.

Used to have a neighbor that kept their outside lights up until late February. My tree came down new Years Eve.

Miss Mary wrote:My outdoor lights are down and packed away. The tree hasn't been lit since th 1st and today is the first day I could find to pack it away correctly (fragile ornaments). My kids might have thrown them all in a box! I have a system so my tree trimmings are not a tangled mess next year.

Occasionally I see homes still lit with outdoor lights. But most are down and if not, not lit at night.

I always find it sad to see streets so dark after the 1st.

Finally, restaurants around here keep their lights up, either on trees outside their entrance or inside. Seems to be a year round thing in the retail world for some establishments (white light only though).

Yeah..and those white lights are annoying as ALL get out!

Our lights came down New Years Day also...cures a hangover

Being a "ski resort" like we are most business's keep theirs up until MAY sometimes...just depends on the ski season, this year, Sunrise Park Resort has a buttload of snow!

Tonight (Epiphany) will be the final night for our outside lights (wound around the big palm trees) to be lit. Kurt will probably take them down tomorrow before he mows the lawn.

It's also the last night for the big tree to be lit. The smaller menorah has been packed up; the larger one has not been light since the last day of Hanukkah but hasn't been packed away.

I've begun to gather all the indoor decorations in the dining room for careful packing, although Kurt's German nutcracker collection and my Snowbabies still remain on display. Since I have some office work to do after church and we are taking some close friends out for dinner (his birthday) tomorrow, I don't think everything will be packed away until after next weekend.

We're leaving the small white lights up around the back patio/pool fence because it's fun to sit outside at night in their festive glow.

All the lights and decorations in the downtown area are still up, although the bank doesn't have their tree up anymore. Also, I did see a few houses with their lights still up.

My great aunt was Russian Orthodox and we would not take our decorations down when she was alive until her Christmas came, but it's been over 20 years since she passed so I forget when it is, so we just take them down after Little Christmas
