Lord Voldemort becomes President of the United States in 2008...why settle for a lesser evil? :flag:

Very interesting ending. It's actually not the same as the first one I read. I'll be interested to see how the hardcore Harry Potter fans react to the ending. It will also be interesting to see it on film.

All I want to say is I hope good wins out and Harry doesn't die.....If so, I'll.......

Even if Harry dies, it's probably gonna be by old age.

I'd be REALLY ticked if the "Harry Potter" series ends the same way "The Sopranos" did.

This huge secret reminds of Star Wars, although that was a movie and not a book. I heard the rumor Darth Vader was Luke's dad and absolutely refused to believe it until I saw and heard the scene, with my own eyes and ears. Keep in mind this was 1980, long before the web. LOL How nice it would have been to watch Empire.....w/o knowing that shocking (at the time) piece of info and learning it first hand. I would have probably screamed outloud! As it was I just sat there and thought in my mind - dam* it is true, probably more cussing ensued (in my mind!).

I finished. As a hardcore Potterhead I was mostly pleased. Yay!

The days leading up to it were not much fun though. Shame on whoever uploaded the book! Several of my friends ran into spoilers in places that were unrelated to Harry Potter. =\ I didn't want to find out what happened so I listened to my iPod in line in case someone was shouting spoilers. I was around #600 in my line.. and I got there 2 hours early. *laughs*

So sad this is the end..

I've tried to get into Harry Potter but it's just too in depth for me. I have watched some of the movies but can never figure out what's going on. I have a friend that's really into it, I haven't heard from him all weekend so I suppose he's got the book lol.

The book was great - all 740+ pages of it! But yeah, I was surprised...

I pre-ordered and had the book delivered on Saturday by noon. It sure beat standing in line somewhere.

I finished it last night.

The ending was much as I expected. A few surprises, but nothing as earth shattering as all the rumors implied.

I still LOVE the series!

It was so different than the previous 6 though.

My only complaint is the epilogue. I hate it. It's like cheesy fanfic! Ick.

I read it... finished it. 14 year old read and finished it. Great book! My favorite line was the Mrs. Weasley one... those of you who have finished the book will know. First I dropped the book in shock... then I actually cheered out loud.

Never meant to get into the whole Harry Potter thing... but went to the first movie with kiddie and it went downhill from there. :P

For you parents out there.. beware this is a pretty dark and mature book. Think hard about the maturity level of your kiddies if they want to read it. Better yet would suggest reading it first so you can decide and then discuss if you do hand over the book to your kid/s. :)

For those of you who wanted more info then the epilogue gave... Rowling has handed out more info in interviews the past few days on what happens to the chars... a google news search should easily turn up the info for you :)

Huge Harry Potter news......this final book will be made into TWO movies, so they won't have to sacrifice certain scenes and/or make one loooooonnnnnggggg movie.

I loved this final book and I'm glad to see that they will make two movies. Two will do it justice, IMHO.

Wonder where they'll make the break?
