*arkess throws some cedar wood in the stove*

*the fire is crankin' now*

WHERE THE HELL IS EVERYONE? I member this thread this time last year and EVERYONE used to post! Oh well. :( I am now moved AGAIN! This time for GOOD! My parents are 15 min. away, I got a good job in accounting at Food Supply Inc. But I'm at the beachshack which my Grandma owns BUT I am staying here for barely no rent I am very thankful. No air, no heat, but the beach is 2 blocks away! It is so weird going to work in the mornin' and walking out the door and hearing waves crashing. I've been like 'whats that noise' ....'oh yeah' the waves.....takes some gettin used too. And BTW the poor beach is sooooo eroded up here in New Smyrna......there is barely no beach to walk on anymore........seems like since Charley, Jeanne and Frances.......it totally screwed up the beaches around here! I grew up coming here from Orlando so I can tell. It's sad! So I have a ice cold brewha if anyone would like one by the bonfire I lit in the oven..........should be smellin' good by now!

*arkess's dog roxy spies crouton comin to lay by the fire and stay warm*

*arkess throws roxy and crouton a milkbone*
Hope yall are well

Does no one sit by the pot belly stove anymore? It is cold enough for two more stoves running full blast here!

I haven't sat by this fire in sooooooo long. I almost forget it's here! LOL

Hello everyone from snowy Cincinnati this morning. Just having light snow showers, nothing major. We've yet to receive a decent storm, just random 0 - 1, 1 - 2 inch snow bursts here and there. That delay schools mostly. Now I did have a snowday in December but that still didn't amount to much more than 2 inches of snowfall......I would like one decent snowstorm before this winter is in the history books!

Miss Mary... it's funny how you get used to something and then expect (want) more. I would kill to have as much snow as you've received.
To be honest, I'd get a slight thrill just to see a few snowflakes.

Dang south! :P

*pulls up a chair, and throws a firecracker in the stove*

I don't know. I just turned 18 yesterday, and am having severely mixed feelings about it. I have that part of me still clinging to childhood. But on the other hand, I can play the lottery now.

OK, which one of you ordered this weather?? Two heavyweight ice storms in 10 days here in the Bootheel... :cold: Last week we had to rent a motel room for two days until our electricity was turned back on. :grr: (And we had to sneak Annabelle [she be a ho'} into our room, and she was a VERY quiet li'l ho' during our stay.) :ggreen:

LOL @ Bill!

Here in the Ohio Valley, February is sure shaping up to be very wintry, more so than January is anymore. Since I work for a school dist. now, we ended up with a 2 day workweek, instead of 4 - receiving 2 snowdays and 1 holiday. I could get used to this work pace!

So I'm home today and have time to browse the message boards. Like old times! Something I so rarely have time for anymore.....I might even play a game of Solitaire or two!

Have a nice day everyone......"enjoy" your ice out there Bill! LOL At least you didn't lose power. We had ice on top of snow, so now my driveway is one big fused mess of white out there. I'm just going to wait for temps to go up, you can't even shovel it and we no longer use any salt, of any kind on concrete. Just lawn fertilizer. Did you all know it melts ice just as well as salt does and it doesn't erode your concrete? Yes, it works great and is environmentally friendly too. You just need to use the Feed type (not Weed & Feed).

Hey everyone!!!

Remember this topic? LOL

Thought I'd kick it off.......well a new chapter has begun for my husband and I. We are empty nesters for the very first time. It's just us and the dog (whom I hope doesn't get too depressed, I'm going to have to invite my 8 year old niece over from time to time!). Yup, both our daughters are on their college campuses (both would have been gone last August but our oldest took one semester off for a Journalism internship). Soooo......it sure feels odd. My grocery bills are going to go way down. We have an 8 room house and half the rooms have their registers closed now (which really saddened me, truth be told)....

All I know is I am not ready for that condo phase. LOL! Still want our house so the girls have a place to land for the summers and on school breaks. And the dog has a yard still.

Okay, next....pull up a chair. Sit a while and visit.

And get this - I have cried but not as much as I thought I would. It probably hasn't sunken in yet, has it?
