Bingo!!
stormtruth....which is more important to you? Safety or convenience?
It's obvious what your posts imply, but just answer with one word, please.
It isn't a one word question. Security up to a certain point which we have now passed.

This makes no sense as it is all over the radio, tv, word of mouth and signs posted everywhere in the airports that this stuff will not be allowed to be carried on. So if people are showing up more than 12 hours after this has started and it somehow escaped them that these items can not be carried on then I do not feel bad for them.
I don't understand it either...
and like someone else said, you can put it in checked baggage. If it's that important to you, why not just do that?
Some people are never happy... it's always everyone else's problem and not theirs.![]()
Oh please. Airports constantly lose luggage. Do you trust airport baggers with your valuables?
Well it's better than throwing it away and not having ANY chance of it getting to your destination.

That's right, don't want to obey the rules, then by God DRIVE, WALK, take a bus.......rules is rules, this is America, a land of CHOICE
a person has MANY choices, if you don't like one, then DON'T DO IT!!!
Sorry, but it seems like we our letting the terrorists make choices for us because people like you are so frightened.
Trying to protect yourself and others does not show fear.. It shows intelligence. If someone pulls a gun on you and you run, I will never call you a scardy cat.. I will call you a smarty cat.. But above all.. You will be an ALIVE cat

Actually, it was a one word question, safety or convenience? Which is THE most important to you?

YOU CANT BRING LIQUIDS ON TO THE PLANE FOR NOW... Airborne Prison??? Uh.. Someone in here earlier used the term over reacting and I said there was no over reacting.. I now take that back.. When you compare a prison to an airplane where you cant bring your make up with you. THAT is over reacting
How far will it go Chad? How scared will we let the terrorists make us? How much will we change just to make ourselves feel safer? Mass. governor Mitch Romni just banned all electronics on flights from Logan.
As far as it takes to keep you and your loved ones alive hopefullyNo More... No Less..
I have not seen the Electronics thing yet.. But.. If he did he did.. You dont have to fly out of logan.. As a matter of fact no one HAS to fly out of logan. Can you get to where you need to go on the plane without having your gameboy to play? Me thinks so.. It may not be as fun of a flight for you.. But you will get through it.. I promise you!
LOL. You are too cheery to get upset at

Oh please yourself. I transport hundreds of pounds of seafood on planes everyday for years, never lost anything yet. And yes there may be some dishonest people, but I happen to know a lot of decent hardworking airport workers and your comment is a slap in the face to those people. And the last time I checked they do have those little locks you can put on your luggage, and barring that you can always next day fedex your valueable stuff to your destination. I find it funny that some people are so busy complaining about the problems they did not bother to think up solutions. And you keep posting about all the bad stuff, but what about people at the NH airport who are handing out padded evenvelopes and paying for postage to help people

Cookiely wrote:Has anyone been on a cruise lately? What was security like as far as carrying large purses or bags on board? Is my question stupid because a ship can't sink fast enough and there would be survivors. Any comments.
I went on a week-long cruise in early May. You could carry on your purse or whatever you wanted, but it all went through the scanner, including the camera hanging around your neck. All of the luggage, cases of water, etc. went through scanners too, but I don't know how/if they would detect something chemical. I know that you're not supposed to bring alcohol on board, but people put it in their suitcases, under clothes, and it went through fine.

I just hope the airport staff search better than the people at the last big football match I went to. They weren't allowing people to take drinks in partly to try to sell them in the ground, and partly because they claim people throw bottle lids but we are a family club! Anyway I still got two bottles of water into the ground.
A few years ago they would never have asked if you had a bomb but they do now even for big sport events.
