Yeah, KWT. I'm still voting as well, but we continue to fall further behind.

It's a wedding contest... you would think people could stay positive. I was appalled at some of the rumors I have seen spread by voters of another contestant, rumors to hurt Katrina and Matt. Unreal. What is wrong with people?

I'm still voting too. Had an issue with their site earlier today at work. Kept getting errors but I'm home now so all is good.

I've voted as often as i could when i wasn't up doing other stuff. One vote at a time. I didn't let it consume my day. I can't believe people are getting on multiple computers to vote, setting their screensavers for 12 minutes. This contest is out of control and i'm sorry to see it has become like this. I feel bad for those who hardly have any votes.

Yeah, same here, and I hate how it has become so personal. It's really sad.

It is unspeakably pathetic that people have absolutely nothing better to do with their lives then to go to such lengths for a wedding contest. Turning this entire thing into an internet war is pitiful. A wedding is supposed to be a happy occasion am I right?

But I guess there's just no such thing as a friendly contest anymore.

I agree with whats being said on here the whole thing has become almost like an internet war. Still that was always going to be the case when you have internet voting to decide such a massive personal event.

Still voting here as well. I just hope that the other couple, if they do win, are NOTHING LIKE the trolls and the ones spreading the rumors against Katrina and Matt. It's pretty pathetic to see grown adults acting like a bunch of babies. There's a lot of miserable, angry and jealous people out there.

My thoughts...let them win. They ended up being so overly obsessive about this. Plus someone i know has offered a gift for Katrina & Matt...a gift that comes from her heart for someone she doesn't know. With that, Katrina & Matt are the real winners.

When I heard about that, it almost made me cry. Such a wonderful gesture.

You're right... overly obsessive. I just wonder where they found their "network" of scrapbookers. There's an entire message board just for that? I have a few scrapbooks I made when I was a kid. You open the book, glue crap in... voila! What is there to talk about?
I guess there's message boards for just about anything these days. I've seen stranger ones than that.

Norma Anne is an accomplished, published, in demand crafter type person who has a network of sites all over the net for her wares. She also used the Methodist website through her parents(dad a retired minister), Craig's List, etc. I just looked to see what was going on and there were boards in Europe, Australia etc. with requests for votes for NA. It was a huge job of networking from what I saw. Many had multiple computers set up to vote every 12 minutes from what I read also.

Imo, Matt and Katrina "need" to win this more than NA and Henry since they are just starting out as opposed to NA and Henry who apparently from what I saw should have no problem paying for a wedding. JMHO

That's exactly how I feel David. Norma's story is indeed a sweet story, but Katrina and Matt are a young couple, just starting out, and this is their first wedding. As someone who "footed the bill" for our own wedding and took years to pay it off (while still paying off student loans, etc.), I think Katrina and Matt are much more deserving.

First of all...don't shoot me, don't delete me...I happened to read this post and just wanted to set a few things straight...

I don't think that ANY of us "scrappers, card makers or scissor people" wish anything but good luck to ALL the Dream Wedding Contestants! Yes, we are voting for Norma Anne, but she's "one of us", just like you are all supporting Katrina. No one is "cheating", I really think by having to enter the numbers to vote, everyone would realize that! There's just a VERY BIG network of scrapbookers NATIONWIDE and we have banded together to support Norma Anne.

I PERSONALLY know Norma Anne and she is NICE, HONEST, and a WONDERFUL person! She is TRULY a treasure in life's jewelbox. She would NEVER wish anything bad on anyone! You can trust that NOTHING that has been posted or said in any negative tone was endorsed by Norma Anne! She cannot control what everyone posts! Please do not hold it against her!

Just to clarify a few things...
I think that when posts were made calling Norma Anne's supporters "cheaters" that it raised some hackles! As one fellow scrapbooker put it..."I can tell ya for sure my fingers are the only software I am using". All this did was increase the voting!
Another thing that just spurs us/them on are negative comments about our "hobby" ie:You're right... overly obsessive. Trust me...not only is there "a message board" for scrapping, there are HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS! There are also message boards for Stampers, card-makers, and MANY other different variations of the scrapbooking/craft hobby. Visit one of our forums, and much like this one, we ask for support and guidance on everything from our latest scrapbooking project to whatever the latest curve that life has dealt us! I have made friends with ladies that I have never met...thru our scrapbooking forums! I cry with them, laugh with them...and trust me, we will all vote for one when necessary!
Last, I've read that, since Norma Anne and Henry have both been married before that they don't "need" a Dream Wedding...that they "wasted" their opportunity. Shame on you! Didn't you read their story? Not only did they both SUFFER thru a divorce, (Ever been through one? They are NOT fun!), but Norma Anne also LOST her home in a Hurricane? Do you have ANY idea how devastating that is? OK...think like a NORMAL person...losing all your belongings...having to rebuild...NOW think like a SCRAPBOOKER!!!! All your pictures........gone! All your scrapbooks and TREASURED memories..........gone! Trust me...it's a scrapbooker's WORST nightmare! So yes, they have been married before and they are not "just starting out"...but they STILL deserve to have a DREAM WEDDING just like Katrina!

I agree with all when it was said that a marriage should be a HAPPY occasion...and I don't want this contest or things said during it, to tarnish Norma Anne nor Katrina's happy day....can't we all just vote for our couple that we want without the name calling and accusations?

Best of luck to all the contestants! I hope that all have a wonderful marriage that lasts a lifetime!

Sarah,
I think the most troubling thing out of all of this is why you guys even come onto our board to say anything at all. So I think scrapbooking is silly... big deal. That's ok. I can think that if I want and it won't affect how you enjoy it. I said it here... I didn't go onto a scrapbooking forum and say it. We all have varying opinions on this board and anyway, my comment was made in jest.
The voting software comment by BreinLa was clearly made in jest as well. She has a good sense of humor. It was a joke. Notice the "lol" when she said it?

Nobody has anything against Norma and I feel confident in saying that everyone here wishes the best for ALL of the contestants. Katrina's mom posts here, so we were voting for Katrina. We didn't go to your board making comments or critiquing your posts. I don't know why you guys feel the need to do that here. We should be able to make comments among each other on here without people who have no real interest in this forum, lurking, just waiting to pounce on comments in this thread. We have NOT done that on your board.

MANY of us know what it's like to lose a home to a hurricane. We're a tropical weather board. A lot of our members have been directly affected by hurricanes, many of whom lost their homes. While I didn't lose my home, Hurricane Rita hit here and devastated where I live and I know a lot of people who did lose their home. And just because some of us don't scrapbook, doesn't mean we don't cherish our pictures, too. We just don't have the added borders and whatnot. I have thousands of pictures that are very dear to me. I left material possessions behind to take them all with me when I evacuated.

It's a wedding contest. Why bring drama into it?
