The MOVIN' PARTY is happening, this weekend! Late Saturday or Sunday (depending on
Bret's Golf Tournament).... who wants to help? (*Garrett, I know you're anxious to help!)

Please pray that my back holds out. I can't explain what I've been through for the last week!
Karan, I know you can't be here, so just PRAY!

How did the move go, Annette? I hope your back is doing fine, and that you'll have your computer hooked up soon.

I'm flying out tomorrow for my annual women's retreat weekend in New Hampshire. Can't wait!

Hope everyone's having a great week!

Pojo:

Congratulations! I feel honored to be able to communicate via these boards with someone who actually flies into tropical systems. Thanks so much for your participation and best of luck!

P.S. I would be interested in what kind (s) of weather class(es) you have to take before you make the next "step up".

I have a degree in Environmental Science/ Earth Science with an emphasis in Meteorology...

As for the classes... You NEED to have Dynamic MET/ Synoptic MET and Physical MET.... those are the real requirements to fully understand the job at hand. When we decipher the temp code, we have to know what's going on in the ATMO levels.

Incidentally, Pojo, Today is the 64th anniversary of the first flight into a hurricane by Colonel Duckworth.

LOL, looks like the heat wave cleared everyone off of the Porch...

Maybe we should rename this thread "Sittin' Round the A/C"? :cheesy:

Nahhhh, I was under the bar where I fell asleep last time I was here. Now it's only 9:30 in the morning. I say it's gotta be noon somewhere. I think I'll have a bloody mary.

I'll join you. With a record-setting 29 days at or above 110 in this neighborhood, a frosty maragarita sounds pretty darn good to this guy.

By the way, do you remember when I used to come in and clean the S2k bar after it closed at night (or was it morning)? That was back when that new kid on TWC, Carl Parker, had all the girls making a fuss!!

Hey there Pojo!

We DO need it to cool down here. But we have about six weeks more of the really hot stuff left, and then that change will bring people outside every day for months!

I had a friend say to me yesterday, "Have you noticed how many out-of-state license plates are here in Phoenix already? I think the winter visitors are already starting to return."

If they are, they will wither up before the real reason they come here shows up in October.

Nice to hear from you Pojo. How's life in the jet stream?
