CTU having dozens of drones over NYC with anti-missile capabilities is a little out there.

There are a lot of things about 24 that are "out there", but I fail to tear myself away every year!
Hmm? Chloe and Jack on their own? Interesting, especially since she is being allowed to run ops(for the moment) without interference.

CTU has been out there for 8 years. :P

But I do think that took the cake.

Can we have a CTU leader who is not a total buffoon? It's the same thing every year.

Jack sleeping=Wow, he's normal!

Jack killing TWO people with an axe=Awesome!

I'm eh on the new castmembers, didn't see enough of them last night to decide.

I loved it! As for the CTU leader being a buffoon, I agree. That was my first thought... oh great, another idiot. But then I thought about it a little deeper... aren't all government leaders in our real world buffoons as well? :P

I've learned to accept the "out there" theories for the most part. I don't see how you can have such an action packed drama for 24 hours in real time, without just accepting some of the impossible.

I like Freddie Prinze Jr. as a cast addition!

Gotta agree with that, lol.

and yeah, I've pretty much accepted the "out there" stuff too. Yes it's unrealistic, but scripted TV is not supposed to be realistic.

That move jumps Cole ahead of Chase as best field agent not named Bauer.

Renee Walker has really changed. It looks like Alan Wilson was tortured pretty brutally. I wonder what ever happened to Janis Gold? I always thought she was a mole/traitor because Dubaku had 100 moles in the federal government.

Well I said last year Renee was a female Jack Bauer....

but WOW!!!!!! Even Jack was shocked.

Just have to say, I'm impressed with this season so far. I've been concerned about the show losing quality since it's now Season 8 but so far so good. The only complaint I have is this stupid subplot with Dana Walsh and her ex, it's completely pointless and has nothing to do with the other stories. But I guess they had to fill time with something(and every year I can remember a plot like this)

I find it bothersome too!! Are you sure it has nothing to do with anything else?

It sounds like she did something in her past which means she shouldn't have the job she does. My initial thought was she is a mole and needs to be at CTU. No I'm thinking thats not it, but it better have something to do with the overall plot.

Renee... the chick is crazy! Wow. I was not expecting that.

They always have a subplot that is either at least somewhat boring or annoying (or just cheesy). But they always tie into it somehow. I am just thankful every year that it's not Sherry Palmer again. lol
Loved David, but couldn't stand Sherry!

LOL I agree. Sherry was awful.

This is definitely better than that.

Somethin' just ain't right with that woman! :double:

More than likely the Dana/boyfriend thing is tied into the whole plot somehow. Marty was saying that it was mindless filler but they always have a purpose for each character.

This is 24's last season. I am not surprised, but will miss it.

:( Then they need a new show with Jack. Jack Bauer should be on TV. :) The 24 hour clock is what has become tiresome... the stupid filler. I could watch Jack, Chloe, and a few others all day. Jack just needs a new vehicle besides the 24 hour clock. Seriously want him on TV! There's not many shows that I love... this is one of them.

I stopped watching it after the 3rd hour. Not that I was a truly faithful watcher of 24 to begin with through out the years. However, my SO, Marty loves it, so when he told me yesterday that this season was really bad, that told me a lot .

I guess I'm a little surprised that he doesn't like it, Steph. I like this season. Now the subplot leaves a lot to be desired, but it usually does. Making a show with Jack Bauer that isn't on a 24 hour clock wouldn't need the stupid filler. We could just see the good stuff. hehe. It'll never happen though.
